Surviving The Blizzard In The Woods - 02/12/11 09:57 PM
Life in Riverwoods is not for the faint hearted.  I am just getting back on line after the blizzard of 2011.
During the height of the storm we lost all electric power for over 36 hours.  18 homes in our area were the only ones effected, but we all toughed it out. 
My husband and I lit a fire in our woodburning stove and put pots of water up to boil in the kitchen thereby raising the temperature from 57 degrees to 67 degrees.  We also curled up in bed a lot under the covers to keep warm.
