Less than 3 months after the new rules for home appraisals have kicked in, the real estate industry is in uproar.
So states Alex Veiga, an AP Real Estate Writer.
 
He has quotes from the National Association of Mortgage Brokers that state " We're eliminating competition, and we all know what happens when you eliminate competion:Prices go up"
 
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have agreed to only to buy loans from lenders that don't directly hire appraisers. This has caused some havoc, as Freddie and Fannie own or guarantee about half of all US home loans.

CLINTONVILLE MARKET REPORT JUNE 2009 - 07/08/09 09:51 AM
There were 62 single family and condo sales in Clintoville in June 2009. The average days on market was 82 with the average sold price being $193,031.
 
This compares to 66 sold units in June of 2008. Average days on market was 71 with the average sold price being $205,710
 
So this amounts to 6% fewer sales, a little more time on the market and average sold price being down 5.8%

Central Ohio market report June 2009 - 07/08/09 09:46 AM
1543 Single family homes and condos sold in Franklin and Delaware county in June 2009. The average sold price was $180,173with the days on market averaging 94.
 
This compares to 1825 units sold in June 2009 with the average sold price being $187,898 with the days on the market being 90.
 
Overall this amounts to 3.7% lower average sold price with the number of solds being 15.4% fewer in 2009 than 2008.
