Fort Gordon Georgia will be hosting it's very own Thanksgiving Feast that will be open to the public. The Columbia County Fair is coming to town. The weather is suddenly getting colder and there is a brisk chill in the air. We are now seeing the local fairs popping up all over town. There are several fairs in town and all of them are sure to be a blast. You can expect cotton candy, popcorn, funnel cakes, corn dogs, candy apples and a ton of other great treats. The Western Carolina State Fair began in Aiken, SC on October 16, 2008 and will end on October 25, 2008 at the Aiken Jaycees Fairgrounds on Highway 1 in Aiken. Special events included a Monster Truck Showdown that began on October 20 and 21, a demolition derby that took place on October 22, 23 and will also be on 25th, a petting zoo and pig races nightly. Augusta natives as a whole takes part each year in the Annual Hispanic Festival downtown. This festival has welcomed Hispanics and non-Hispanics alike for a decade and a half. The Asociacion Cultural Hispano Americana sponsors the event, and this will be its 16th year of celebration and it has come to be known as the Hispanic Festival. For almost an entire weekend, Hispanics are the majority. The festival is the ideal ethnic gathering place. Furthermore, the festival sheds some light on the culture and traditions that non-Hispanics might otherwise neglect to appreciate. Thirteen of Augusta's restaurants got perfect scores. The score is based upon what the inspectors found on the day they inspected the restaurant. These restaurants located in Augusta and Aiken, SC received a perfect score of 100 points.
