I'm talking about your water heater. Heating water accounts for about 25 percent of all the energy used in a home. Many homeowners have a traditional tank-storage-style water heater. The Deloitte Research Leading Index of Consumer Spending rose slightly in July due mostly to a slower pace of decline in home prices and the residual effects of the recent tax rebates."House prices declined more slowly this month, but they are still down from a year ago and they continue to be the biggest drag on the index," said Carl Steidtmann, chief economist with Deloitte Research, a subsidiary of Deloitte Services LP, and author of the monthly Index.Researchers also said home mortgage refinancing has all but disappeared, further reducing household cash flow. It happens over and over again. The agent delivers an outstanding presentation to the prospect. She not only knew all the facts, but also about all of her competitors. Her vocal skills were impeccable, and she portrayed professionalism and confidence. Her close was strong and affirmative. The "American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008" (H.R. 3221) was signed by President Bush on July 30, 2008. This measure provides mechanisms to help the troubled housing market as well as tighten lending practices and reform financial institutions. New Homebuyer Tax Credit - For qualifying home purchases after April 11, 2008 and before July 1, 2009, the Act provides eligible first-time homebuyers a refundable tax credit equal to the lesser of 10% of the purchase price of a principal residence or $7,500 ($3,750 for married individuals filing separately).
