In a year when Front Street merchants have had very little to smile about, they organized one of the most successful and beautiful trick or treat Front Street events I have ever seen. Thank You from all of the smiling children, parents, and Georgetown residents. My daughter is 3 and saw quite a few of her friends at this event and I snapped some very memorable photos of her. She was the pink ballerina.

Kensington Elementary school in Georgetown, SC will be having a Fall Festival today from 5-8PM. Take 701 north out of Georgetown, go past the Walmart and turn right on Kensington Boulevard. If you want to see a great house for sale turn left on Jasper and proceed to 1987 Jasper Street. 3 bedrooms 3 baths with a studio lockout and big backyard.

Horseback riding on the beach may be in jeopardy - 10/21/10 11:46 PM
There is uproar in the equestrian community as Georgetown and Horry counties review rule changes that could further restrict or even permanently ban hoseback riding on the beach. Horses have already been banned from Surfside Beach and Garden City Beach. Currently horses are permitted on the beach from September through March.

Alligator Hunting Update South Carolina - 10/21/10 11:38 PM
Update 10-21-10. Year  2009- 1,000 SC permits issued- 452 alligators killed and tagged. Year 2010- 1,200 SC permits issued- killed to date is unknown. Largest gator taken in South Carolina measured 14 feet, 2 inches and was harvested 8-16-2008 in the South Santee River. The price of alligator hides has fallen significantly. An 8 foot or bigger hide used to fetch $40 per linear foot and recently prices have dropped as low as $8 per linear foot for the same hide. Freezers are full of hides waiting for the prices to rise.
