Follow Up on Henderson County, NC Commissioners Stance on Prayer To Start Meetings.  The Commissioner's held a public hearing on prayer Tuesday evening at Blue Ridge Community College.  About 150 people turned out to listen to the discussion and about 40 people had signed up to speak.  The majarity were in favor of the meetings opening with a prayer.The commissioner's unanimously voted to continue the practice of saying a prayer to open a meeting.  The invocation can be read by a commissioner or a leader from the community and whoever says the prayer can say it in their own faith.The Times-News has published … (2 comments)

Hendersonville North Carolina Water/Sewer Rates to Rise.  Just in case you missed this, city of Hendersonville water/sewer proposed update I'm sending along the Times-News article explaining.The bad news for Hendersonville City folks is that the water and sewer rates will increase 2.75% according to the proposed 2010/2011 budget.  It's the sign of the times with many local city budgets through out the country having budget issues and crises.The good news for the city of Hendersonville, NC residents is that the current tax rate of 38 cents per $100 of property valuation will stay the same in the proposed budget.  Since city residents also have to … (1 comments)
