Homeowners Get Help Protesting Property Taxes - 05/24/09 12:42 PM
In Texas, we don't have a state income tax and our property taxes can be high compared to states that do so it's important to keep track of the county appraisal districts value of your home. This is something your Realtor can assist you with because also in Texas, sold information is not public information and is difficult for you and the county tax appraiser to acquire.
One of the services I offer to my clients is data with which they can protest their taxes when the county appraiser has valued the home too high. In this changing real estate market, … (1 comments)

Hail Damage Results in a New Roof - 05/24/09 12:31 PM
Recently a hail storm came through our neighborhood and damaged all the roofs. This morning I had a brief conversation with a neighbor who just had his roof replaced and he was unhappy with his decisions. He told me that talking to me first was on his list of things to do but he got caught up in the flurry of activity on the street and just had it replaced the same as another neighbor.
In general, consumers tend to undervalue the information a REALTOR has available. I love to help people and answer their questions. I think of myself as a … (2 comments)

Colors Effect Saleability - 05/12/09 04:44 PM
According to color experts and experienced REALTORS®, the color choices you make when painting your home can have a positive effect on the saleability. There are four areas that are the most distinguishing to a buyer - the front door, the living area, the kitchen and the master bath.
The Front Door. The entrance of your home is the first and last impression that the buyer will have. Most importantly, make sure it's clean! It's helpful to have a large colorful plant at the entrance. Choose the color of the door carefully. It needs to be something that will stand out … (4 comments)

Buyers Assign Nicknames to Homes - 05/12/09 03:52 PM
When shopping for a home, buyers can become overwhelmed after looking at a number of properties. They seem to have endless energy to drive all over town, jump in and out of cars and climb up and down stairs; wanting to see as much as they can in a short period of time so they can make an informed decision on which home they want to make an offer.
