There are many articles about how to stage a home to sell and I've written a lot of them myself but there is one that stands out more than any other and yet it's seldom on the top 10 list. CLEAN, CLEAN CLEAN!!!

The Zilker Park Holiday Tree has been a holiday tradition in Austin since 1967! The tree is an amazing sight at 155 feet tall and made of 39 streamers. a popular activity is to stand in the middle of the tree and spin around. Each streamer has 81 lights totaling 3,309 lights. The spiral pattern was designed by City of Austin Electricians. The tree is available to see every evening until December 31st from 6PM to midnight.

In the 2009 Profile of Texas REALTORS, interesting statistics showed up.
Apparently, in 2009 45% of Texas REALTORS had at least one transaction which was a foreclosure. I escaped that one and I'm working on my first ever. I'm representing the buyer so wish me well.
Only 16% of REALTORS have been licensed 11 to 15 years. That includes me. The largest percentage was 23% at 6 to 10 years.
The most used business software is . . . you guessed it MLS.
Surprisingly, only 13% of Texas REALTORS have a blog. I guess those of us at ActiveRain are ahead … (0 comments)

Novemeber 6 is the date for the Milwood Rattan Creek Neighborhood Cleanup. Just put your "stuff" at the curb by 7:00 am and the truck will be by to relieve you of all those things that have been piling up in your garage. We have 2 toilets!
Be sure to cut and bundle you limbs and brush in maximum 4 foot lengths no larger than 2 feet in diameter.
Also, hazardous materials that will not be taken are tires, batteries, oil, paint, combustibles, refrigerators, window units or anything with freon.

Austin weather. On Sunday , February 21st, it was a glorious day in Austin, Texas - 73 degrees and sunny. The kind of day that makes you happy to be alive. We spent the afternoon at our daughters house sitting outside and soaking up the sunshine.
Tuesday it was snowing! It almost never snows here although we are prone to get one ice storm a year. These were really big flakes and it snowed for most of the day.

In the book Stop Acting Rich. . .And Start Living Like a Millionaire by Thomas Stanley, Ph.D. there are some interesting statistics about the price range value of homes in which millionaires reside.
403,211 millionaires live in homes valued at $1 million or more.
1,138,070 millionaires live in homes values at $300,000 or less! 90% of millionaires live in homes valued at $1 million or less. Did you read The Millionaire Next Door , a book about how the average family next-door is often a millionaire who has managed their money well and not spent it all on consumables.

Coincidentally, it was in October that I discovered I had Breast Cancer. That was in 2006 and today I had another of many successful checkups with my Oncologist. I was really lucky. No I did not catch it early but I did catch it in time. My doctors were great, I was determined and today I am Cancer free.
Cancer is a disease that affects both men and women and the statistics are devastating. There is still so much unknown about Breast Cancer and I don't know if I inherited it from my Mother who had it, if it's because of … (4 comments)
