This is one of those years when it's not going to be a WHITE CHRISTMAS where we are, but regardless it will be filled with last minute shopping to the Mall, Local Businesses and of course the grocery stores for many!  For us it will be having my wife's family over this afternoon for soup and snacks before we head of to church around 5 for our candlelight service then finally we come back home and exchange gifts!

This totally remodeled Bungalow closed on December 22 .....Just in time for the new owners first Christmas in their new home!  This was one of those homes that just had a cozy feel that you sometimes only get from those historic homes built close to downtown in the 1920's .....I can only imagine the times the original owners had here and with their short walk to downtown Bristol TN/VA!

So from 1923 to 2011 The Bristol TN/VA Area is still a great place to live!

Now it's only 7 days before Christmas .....This is one of my favorite photos from 2011! 
It's taken from my Mom amd Dad's back porch.  It's the farm I grew up on, but it didn't look like this growing up ....when I was growing up you would only see cattle, sheep and an occasional horse roaming these hills!  I wouldn't change the way I grew up for anything ....just sometimes wish I could go back for a while!

One of the bright spots in our market is the fact that Bristol VA County Residential Home sales are up 11.47% (68 compared to 61) over last year!!  And more important is the fact that new listings were down 14% (110 from 126) over last year! Even pending sales are up 3.22% over last year!
Home sold in Bristol VA City remain behind last year (134 compared to 109) which is behind  18.65%, but new listings are down also at 7.62% (261 compared to 235)
