Current Active Home Listings Numbers For Rockland County, NY As Of August 24, 2008 - 08/25/08 05:10 PM
Hi everyone, these are the numbers for the current active listings (homes that are currently for sale) in Rockland County NY. This is for residential homes and condominiums according to the Greater Hudson Valley MLS. As you can see inventory is still high in this area and these numbers do not include homes that are not listed in the MLS like "for sale by owners"
With interest rates so low and inventory so high it's a great time to buy a house in

Hi everyone, I am writing this post because of something that I think needs to be said. I went out this week to preview a house that is for sale in New City, NY a hamlet of Rockland County, NY that has lots of beautiful homes. The house I was going to see just happens to also be a short sale. When I went in all I saw was clothes, dirty dishes, and clutter EVERYWHERE. Great News Rockland County, New Rules For Mortgage Brokers & Creditors Yippeeee - 08/05/08 08:10 PM
I can't tell you how happy this makes me. New rules have been put in place for home mortgage loans that will protect the consumer from unfair, abusive, and deceptive home mortgage lending practices. In short these new rules will prohibit mortgage brokers and creditors from using deceit to get loans approved that should not be approved. Deceptive behavior by mortgage brokers and creditors affects us all and is one of the reasons the real estate market is in trouble today. New Tax Credit For First Time Home Buyers / Rockland County NY - 08/05/08 08:08 PM
The Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 has a great incentive for first time home buyers. If interested in taking advantage of this tax credit a home buyer must purchase the home after April 8, 2008 and before July 1, 2009 and the buyer must not have owned a residential property in whole or in part at least three years prior to this purchase. The tax credit is $7,500 or $3,750 if married and filing seperately. The credit is to be paid back in increments of $500 a year for 15 years starting on the second year after the purchase.
