Executive Chef Dave Dennis, who has led culinary teams at Ruth's Chris in Phoenix and King's Fish House in Orange, has been appointed chef at the new Matador Cantina in downtown Fullerton.
A graduate of Scottsdale Culinary Institute in Arizona, the Southern California native has expanded his culinary repertoire to include a wide range of Mexican cuisines while living in Mexico near Puerto Vallarta and while working as a private chef aboard a chartered yacht in Panama.
Cantina owner Mario Marovic said the new restaurant's cuisine will feature a fusion of native and contemporary Mexican favorites.

While police officers continue their search for the man who stole beer from a supermarket, they are still shaking their heads at the actions of a bold clerk who jumped on the hood of the thief's car and rode several blocks before retrieving the stolen merchandise, Sgt. Mike MacDonald said.

The owners of Beverly's Best Bakery on Brea Boulevard are exploring a second location in downtown Fullerton, owner Jennifer Cella Williams said last week.
"We would have a narrow focus on specialty cakes and desserts," Williams said.
She said the newly opened Orange County Recorder's Office at the corner of Amerige Avenue and Harbor Boulevard played a small part in their decision based on the wedding service the county clerk provides.
