The ghost of a young bride named Charlotte haunts the Prince Charles Hotel in downtown Fayetteville. On her wedding day Charlotte, as the story goes, found her new husband in bed with a bridesmaid in the honeymoon suite on the seventh floor. Unable to deal with the shock and humiliation the young bride jumped to her death from an eighth floor window.
The spirit of Charlotte rides the elevator to the eighth floor around midnight. According to senior housekeepers the ghost will play tricks with the guest-room locks. The presence of what is believed … (11 comments)

Here is another of Fayetteville's Ghostly legends for your spooky reading pleasure.
In downtown Fayetteville at the old train station, now an Amtrak terminal and Subway sandwich shop, a ghostly figure has been spotted. A man in orange who appears at no particular time of night or day has been observed suddenly vanishing before amazed observers.
It's common for people to hear unexplained and eerie whispering or whistling while dining. An old fashioned telephone sometimes rings 4 to 5 times then stops.
No one knows the origin of the mysterious disappearing apparition or the strange happenings but it is speculated that they may be connected to the dark … (6 comments)

Here comes Halloween and what goes with Halloween?...., Ghost stories that's what! Well these aren't really stories but local legends but entertaining nonetheless.

In the late 1700s there was an accident involving a man, a passenger on a train. The man stepped outside the train's car for some fresh air or perhaps to smoke when suddenly the train stopped with great haste. The man was thrown from where he was standing and beheaded.
