Occupy Wall Street!!! - 10/12/11 01:26 PM
I hear a lot about the Occupy Wall Street Movement lately...in the news, in passing, on the radio. It's all over the place that a bunch of people have decided to gather and blame the big corporations of Wall Street for the ills of this great nation. Here's the really cool thing...because we have this GREAT NATION, we have the RIGHT to assemble and protest anything we want. We could even protest OXYGEN if we wanted to (pretty dumb move if you ask me, but it's been pretty dumb some of the things I've seen protested in the past!). Anyway, these (5 comments)
Extreme Makeover, USA - Warning: This blog is long and may offend some. Feel free to skip it. - 10/07/11 06:08 PM
Not normally one for a lot of political commentary on my blog as it often gets too heated, but this blog by Mike Cooper lays out a lot of very good, workable ideas to solve issues facing our country today. One thing is for certain, we're NOT going to get it fixed the way we've been going for the last 20 plus years! Via Mike Cooper, Real Estate Agent-Broker, Winchester,VA (Cornerstone Business Group, Inc.): I just finished watching an episode of Extreme Makeover, and whew, that is tough to watch. In a good way, anyway. The impact that a small group of people (1 comments)

Zip Realty sued over MINIMUM Wage! - 10/06/11 01:14 PM
Ok, first, the disclosures. ===>Prior to opening Texas Choice Realty as the broker and owner, I was briefly with ZIP REALTY as an associated broker. Their model was intriguing to someone like me, as I pondered going out on my own. They provided some (very few) leads to their agents and in the months just prior to my arrival, they had classified their agents as "employees". It was a model unlike anything in the industry. Now we see WHY no one else in the industry tried to do this. The California Labor Commissioner has filed suit agains ZipRealty INC seeking to (5 comments)
Steve Jobs has died - 10/05/11 07:44 PM
Earlier I wrote a "review" of sorts of Apple's latest release of the iPhone. Appearantly they were rushing to market with the latest iPhone due to Steve Jobs illness. He stepped away from Apple several months ago and many are wondering what direction the technology giant will take without him at the helm.
I am very sad to hear that Steve Jobs has died... October 14th, the actual release date of the iPhone 4S has been dubbed an unofficial STEVE JOBS DAY. (105 comments)
Sometimes the public doesn't KNOW who the professionals are! - 10/05/11 03:45 PM
I had an interesting conversation the other day with a home owner. He wasn't necessarily looking to sell right now, but he did have a good question. This guy was curious about how he could KNOW whether his agent was a "good" one or not...after a joke or two about how he could be guaranteed to get a "good" one by hiring me we talked about the things that might make an agent a "good" one. While he thought that the bottom line was how fast and how much, I told him that you'll really have no way to KNOW that ahead (5 comments)
Apple, What were you thinking? - 10/05/11 12:05 PM
I have to admit it. I fell for the big hype. I've had an iPhone for a couple of years now and while I didn't jump on the iPhone 4, I was looking forward to the iPhone 5 that was going to be released this month. So what did we get? Not the iPhone 5 but rather the iPhone 4S. Apple is so GOOD at word of mouth creating a buzz...it got me this time. But it looks like it got a lot of others too as Apple dropped 5% in the market this morning. Seems I wasn't the only (4 comments)
Hey Kroger, NO THANKS! - 10/04/11 02:12 PM
I walked into Kroger yesterday--October 3. I was going in there for a few items for the dinner menu for the night. Walked around and was greeted by CHRISTMAS! Years ago, I worked in retail, actually in a grocery store, while going to college and it seemed every year that Christmas stuff got out on the sales floor just a little earlier... This year, it made it out by the first part of October... Is this a hope that they can get a jump on holiday spending and have a great holiday shopping season or is it just such a soft (6 comments)
