You can drive down almost any residential street in your town and you'll see 'For Sale' signs ~ sometimes multiple signs on the same street. Since I'm a real estate stager in Portland OR I'm often visiting homes in many neighborhoods to meet a potential homeowner or Realtor client. I'm curious about some of the sign riders attached to 'For Sale' signs and want to ask the Realtor community: DO THESE SIGNS REALLY HELP TO PROMOTE A PROPERTY? ARE THEY A POSITIVE REFLECTION? Fellow home stagers, has this ever happened to you? Your client (the homeowner), who has moved out, contacts you and says, "My listing agent offered 'free' staging as part of their services .... but the staging isn't at all what I expected. This beautiful new construction home in Lake Oswego, a lovely suburb of Portland OR has been on the market for nearly 4 years! Now a foreclosure, our Portland home staging company was recently hired to stage it. With about 3,300 sq ft the home has some wonderful features, but the previous online photos before staging indicated a couple of challenges which we felt could be overcome with proper staging. One of the most satisfying parts of our job as professional home stagers is when a property that was considered "challenging" sells after it's been staged. This beautiful Portland Oregon luxury property had everything going for it: one of the best Portland addresses, stunning design with top quality materials and workmanship, and a large private lot bordering a nature preserve. After 34 years, this 1976 ranch home just outside Portland Oregon needed updating before the sellers could put it on the market. The process began when they contacted my company for a home staging consultation, where we walked through the entire home as well as the outside spaces.
