Silverton Business Group The group meets Wednesday mornings from 8 to 9 am at Silverton Inn & Suites. Program this week will be presented by Whimsy & Whimsy 4 Kids.
April Forum Lunch – Silverton School Bond Friday, April 12, 11:45 – 1:00 – Superintendent of Schools Andy Bellando, School Board Member Tim Roth and School Bond Campaign Committee Member Phil Appleton will present the School Bond Measure which will be on the May ballot. Lunch will be held in the conference room above the Birth Center at Silverton Health. Cost for lunch is $10 with a reservation by Tuesday, April 9. Late reservations or non-Chamber members pay $15. 2013 Silverton Fine Arts Festival Poster Contest Artists of all ages, mediums, and skill levels are invited to enter their artwork to be chosen for the 2013 Silverton Fine Arts Festival poster! The winning image will appear on the official posters, t-shirts, postcards, and programs for the “best little art fair in Oregon,” and the winner will receive a $200 cash prize. All entries will be displayed at the Borland Gallery during the month of August, and the original winning design will be auctioned during the festival. Please submit applications, finished artwork and $15 fee per entry to Silverton Arts Association, 303 Coolidge St., Silverton, Oregon 97381 by March 30. Entries must be 2-dimensional. This 2-hour workshop for nature and animal loving kids features both the temperate rainforest here in Oregon and the tropical rainforest of the equatorial region with interesting activities and creative art projects.
Art of the Masters Friday March 29 10:00-12:00 Ages 5-10. Many of the great masters were inspired by gardens and flowers. Learn about and create artwork inspired by Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Georgia O’Keeffe.

Volunteer Opportunities at Silver Falls State Park Spring is here and soon visitors will fill the park once again. Friends of Silver Falls has two volunteer opportunities: Nature Store Volunteer will work in the park’s gift & souvenir store. Store volunteers have the opportunity to meet visitors from all over the world while interacting with & helping visitors enjoy the park. Canyon Trail Interpretive Volunteers hike the Trail of Ten Falls and answer questions about the trail & park. They receive training in using a walkie-talkie type radio and learn park procedures for emergencies and other needs.
