When we think about the communities where we live and work, it is important to think about what makes them a great place to live. On my list in Silverton are the many small business owners who tirelessly work to provide uinique shops, amazing food, entertainment, recreation and more. It's not easy being a small business owner and I salute their hard work and dedication. They are living their passion and sharing it with our community. Congratulations to Suzie Couraud for her win as the 2010 Silverton Business of the Year.

Overall sales (all Salem areas) were up by 11 units over January 2010. This was the best January showing since 2008. Area 20 was the only area that didn’t increase in sales year over year. Comparing January 2010 & 2011, average sold price was down a little but median sold price was up!
