Mecosta County Community and Family Expo 2011 - 04/23/11 11:44 AM
Every year the Mecosta County Area Chamber of Commerce holds a business trade show on the last Saturday of April. This is a great way to showcase your business and get your name out in the community that is filled with would be buyers and clients. Has been sold out for the last four years in a row and this year is looking like a great one. It's held at the Big Rapids Middle School which is just off Michigan on the North end of town. If you are a business that thinks you could benefit from having a booth contact the Chamber at

New and Improved Chamber Website - 04/23/11 11:36 AM
For anyone looking for the Mecosta County Area Chamber of Commerce, you are in for a treat. They have launched a new website which can be found here: New Website . I wasn't a huge fan of our old site but this one rocks! This one has a much cleaner look and is way easier to navigate. Upcoming events and New Members scroll on home page so you don't have to search for them. If you own a business in Mecosta County you should really look into how the Chamber can help you! Enjoy the new site and thanks for reading.

Oh...Mother Nature you Prankster. - 04/17/11 06:09 PM
Yes...I do work weekends! That is my claim to fame and I use it in all my adds so when I received a call yesterday to show a house this morning, I was all in. I should have known when I went to leave and Mother Nature played a little prank. She hid the green grass of yesterday and replaced it with a nice coat of snow. Not overly excited about driving 50 miles in the snow/freezing rain mix I took off early so as to get there on time. When I arrived I noticed yet another little joke had been played

San Diego Home Inspections — Here a crack, there a crack.... - 04/11/11 02:07 PM
I don't re blog many but here is a really good post by Russel Ray. He is one of my all time favorite inspectors who not only sheds light on inspection issues but adds a touch of humor. This post is so fitting because he cracks me up with his humor. Usually in Russel's post you will find Zoey, hard at it, as in the pic below. If you haven't subscribed to Russel, do it now and you will always have a place to find humor mixed with years of experience with inspections. Via Russel Ray, San Diego home inspector (Russel Ray,

Amazing Half Log Home Near Mount Pleasant, MI - 04/10/11 06:32 PM
Here is an amazing 3 bedroom/2bath half log home on 37 acres with pasture for the horses. Using 3"x8" log siding gives you all the beauty and warmth of log but less cracking and maintenance. Home features full basement with separate kitchen, huge loft are upstairs with a spiral staircase you won't forget. Three extra large bedrooms and an office that could be the 4th bedroom. 40x106 outbuilding with box stalls and plenty of room for storage. Definitely not a drive by, needs to be experienced.

Life in a Snow Globe - 04/03/11 07:59 PM
This morning I was doing my morning ritual of coffee and Active Rain and enjoyed a beautiful pic in a Speechless Sunday post by Larry Brewer. It was a stunning picture of the golf course at the Augusta National. As I was reading I noticed outside the robins playing in my yard. I was thinking how great it was that spring was finally here.....enter Mother Nature. Less than an hour later we had two inches of snow and were under a winter weather advisory for whiteout conditions. This is what Life in a Snow Globe is like. We are not in Alaska,

San Diego home inspections — Helping sellers, buyers, and their agents get along - 04/03/11 04:18 PM
I have only reblogged a couple posts since joining Active Rain but Russell really put together a very good list of things to check for sellers. The inspector will be looking at these after an offer is made, why not repair what is necessary before and help the deal to go through without a hitch. Via Russel Ray, San Diego home inspector (Russel Ray, Property Consultant): Helping sellers, buyers, and their agents get along I always get frustrated when somehow I get in the middle of battles betwen buyers, sellers, and their real estate agents, so following are some helpful

YES...I Work Weekends!!! - 04/03/11 10:09 AM
Some things just don't make sense to me. Like when I hear downtown retail owners complain about lack of business and then close up shop at 5pm when everyone is getting out of work. Same in real estate. Why would you not work when everyone is out looking for properties? I get the whole 'need a day to myself" thing but you wouldn't sell umbrella's on a sunny day so why would you take the days off when people are most apt to be looking. In all honesty, I would say that 15 of my sales last year picked me because

Of course it's an April Fools prank. They are still painfully pretending to be experts and creating new road blocks daily. lol. Have a great day and watch out for pranksters.
