colonial virginia: Holiday Decorations in Colonial Williamsburg 12/7/11 - 12/07/11 12:40 PM
Holiday Decorations in Colonial Williamsburg If you want to treat yourself to a special experience, visit Colonial Williamsburg during the holiday season. Dolores and I enjoy seeing the decorations that are all made from natural materials. Do not expect to see all that is offered in one visit. It takes several visits for most to really get familiar with the area and the wonderful programs that are offered. Please share photographs from your favorite places in the comments for this post. Enjoy the holidays and be well prepared for an outstanding 2012.

Colonial Williamsburg Holiday Wreath 12/6/11 Colonial Williamsburg is a wonderful travel destination for those that are interested in American history in the 18th century. The Thanksgiving and Christmas period is especially delightful because of the holiday decorations, all done traditional natural materials, and the holiday entertainment that takes place every day. Many of the decorations are very creative and make good examples for those that wish to create decorations for their own homes and places of business. Holiday Decorations in Colonial Williamsburg This Colonial Williamsburg wreath includes pages from the Virginia Gazette, the colonial newspaper and pipes to enjoy while reading the newspaper by candlelight. All of the holiday decorations use natural materials. Dolores and I visited the area over the long Thankgiving weekend and we recommend that you visit with your camera in hand. Holiday Decorations in Colonial Williamsburg One of the pleasures of visiting Colonial Williamsburg during the holiday season is seeing all of the decorations in natural materials. Those that enjoy making their own decorations will be inspired by the traditional themes that always delight the eyes in this unique setting. Dolores and I try to visit Colonial Williamsburg several times each year with cameras in hand. Dolores always wants to visit the colonial kitchen at the Palace and the Benjamin Powell house to get ideas for traditional recipes.
