Mortgage Rates and What May Move Them This Week: June 27, 2011 - 06/27/11 01:33 PM
 Last week was a good one for rates with Fannies gaining 18/32ndsfor the week. That should set us up again for yet another low for the year, even with the ground we lost the previous week. At last week's FOMC meeting the Fed reduced growth forecasts, and troubles in Greece continued the flight to quality helping to lower rates last week.
This week not only is a holiday week, but we have auctions and data to chew on as the week moves along. Here is the calendar:

Mortgage Rates and What May Move Them This Week: June 20, 2011 - 06/20/11 03:19 PM
It finally happened. After 9 straight weeks of improving interest rates we finally had a week where rates went up a bit.  By the closing bell on Friday we saw Fannies lose 7/32nds for the week. That is enough to be noticeable on a rate sheet, but over all we are still in great shape with rates.  The bump up in rates would have been much worse if it were not for the problems in Greece, Mid week we had a big mortgage rally as there was rioting in Greece and an market that went running for safety and starting buying … (3 comments)

Mortgage Rates and What May Move Them This Week: June 13, 2011 - 06/13/11 02:25 PM
Last week marked the 9th week in a row of improving rates, but in reality it was a pretty flat week with Fannies only gaining 3/32nds for the week. Thursday was the scary day where we finally had a rally in stocks and the 30yr auction was not well bid making for a seriously negative day for rates that wiped out the gains for the week. That being said, Mid 4's for a 30 yr fixed with NO POINTS for our average buyer, Not to shabby!

Stop Junk Mail, and AVOID Trigger Leads - 06/08/11 04:26 PM
 

What the heck is a "Trigger Lead"??? 
When a lender runs your credit, the 3 major databases (XPN, TU and EFX) sell your information. This makes your phone ring off the hook with many people that purchased your name. Some of these calls will be more than a nuisance, they can be pushy and I have even had clients that are made to think that they already applied with "brand x".
The bad news is there has been a huge increase in Trigger lead activity in the past few weeks,
But there is something you can do about it moving forward.

Mortgage Rates and What May Move Them This Week: June 6, 2011 - 06/06/11 12:45 PM
Last week was the 8th week in a row of improving Mortgage Rates with fannies gaining another 9/32nds for the week we now have Mid 4's available for many buyers.  We are now within spitting distance of the all time lows we saw last fall. The bad news here is that the employment report was much weaker than anticipated and that report was a big part of last weeks gain.
This weeks calendar is mostly overshadowed by 3 Auctions pumping a few extra billion worth of bonds into the market. Here is the Calendar:

Wordless Wednesday: Falls x 4 - 06/01/11 12:37 PM

 I was sitting on the top left of the fall below
Maybe it was this sign that had her worried?

Sue and I spent a night at Ricketts Glenn State park PA specifically to hike the Waterfalls Trail, We did the 7.2mile Loop and saw over 20 water falls, most were 30+ feet, but the biggie was this 95 foot fall

Definitely worth the trip, and the effort to see the falls!
