Beautiful home built in 1920 in historic Crestwood. This 3 bedroom 2 bath house was totally renovated in 2003 but still maintains it's original charm and beauty! Come see all the entertaining possibilities with the large rooms, big kitchen, tall celings, and tons of porch and outdoor space! Large walk-in closets not normally found in this era offer plenty of clothes space and the full unfinished basement gives lots of good storage. The two gas-log fireplaces keep you cozy in the winter, and updated bathrooms make this house ready to go!

Well it passed! I now have $6500 reasons to get off the fence and use the Homebuyer tax credit! Personally, I think the market has already benefitted from the first time buyer$8000 tax credit, (at least the lower priced homes) and now it's been extended and opened the door for other opportunities. If you're still sitting on the fence then get moving! Call your Real Estate agent! Agents- get off the fence and call your clients! I know I'm tempted to buy a house!

It seems the lawmakers are discussing extending the tax credit into 2010 and offering a $6500 credit to "homeowners that have lived in their house 5 of the last 8 years." I am still trying to figure out where that came from, but I will take it!
Bail me out too! Unfortunately, somewhere down the line someone (me, you and our children probably) will have to make this mystery money up, but for now it seems like everyone may get a piece of fiscal pie.
Has the tax credit really spurred the real estate market? I think it has helped get some buyers off the fence and moved some inventory in the middle to lower price range, but it certainly hasn't solved the "problem." Time and reality will have to kick in to ultimately fix the issues at hand. Just what we need-a dose of responsible reality for everyone.
I do like the idea of reducing the credit if extended. Save some face and don't make those buyers that thought they took advantage of it while it was available angry! But wait! What about the other buyers who have spurred the housing market in 2009 but didn't qualify for the first time home buyer tax credit? Now they don't get the $6500 either?!

An old movie title (Spike Lee I think) and a catchy slogan from NIKE combined to make this post.
How hard is it-in Real Estate or any other aspect of life, to "do the right thing?" I truly believe we all have a built in moral compass or "radar", that tells us right from wrong. Unfortunately, some people may be better at ignoring these feelings, but I firmly believe WE ALL KNOW. Deep down we all know, so JUST DO IT!
