4th quarter 2008 Dallas/Ft Worth area statistics.

Here is the Dallas area stats from the Dallas Morning News for all home sales in the area. You will find area home price averages, median days on the market, price per square foot averages, the % change from 07 to 08 in number of home sales, also the % change in value increase or decrease in prices. I think you will find that some areas showed very little change and others mostly far North and South showed tons of change.

You will find that even though it looks bleak, the overall numbers are very positive when you look at the nation as a whole. Compare areas west like Vegas, Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco, or Seattle and others farther East and South like Atlanta, New York, Orlando, and you will find that ther overall market is down nearly 30% across the board. We find that in the Dallas area we are only down roughly 4% across the board with some areas flat or slightly up. I hope you'll find this helpful and look forward to the next entry.

If you have questions on your neighborhood or others that you may have interest in contact me for more detailed information on those neighborhoods.

D/FW #1 for Buying or Selling

Wanting to share good news that Dallas-Ft. Worth remains the number one market when it comes to opportunity for buying or selling. While the area's average home prices dropped slightly from August 2007 to August 2008, Dallas fared the best over any other major market in the country. What does that mean for you? If you are ... or someone you know is ... looking to buy or sell, then now's the time. Homes on the market that are priced right are moving and there's plenty of opportunity to get more house for your money. And with stock markets a volatile right now, why not consider putting investment dollars into the much more stable Dallas real estate market. Here to help you or thankfully welcome any referrals you may have. Call me at 214.801.8800 or drop me an email at benbaker@kw.com.
