What's in a name??

Don't you agree it's better to die with a good name than to live with a bad one?

It takes only seconds to ruin a good name and a life time to build one.

A good name is better than precious ointment.

There is a name for people who are not excited about their work ~~~~ They are called unemployed.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.

Courage.. What is it?

Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. Life is a risk. Change and chances will be constant. We could never learn to be brave and patient if there were only joy in the world. Courage is contagious.

Talk courage, think courage, act courageously. The opposite course will surely cause you to have more mental burdens than you can carry.

Courage will never be the absence of fear but the ability to move forward with dignity in spite of it. A person of courage is also full of faith.

Have the courage to call that FSBO or that expired. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Last but not least... Never under take anything for which you wouldn't have the courage to ask the blessing of heaven.

FREE YOURSELF ??

Free yourself from habits that suppress you, and people that depress you. Cut up your credit cards and free yourself from the vicious cycle of debt and interest that never goes away. (I did and I'm still making it) Free yourself from draining relationships with people who only want to take and never give. I'm a few friends less now and I'm okay with this. Really were they my friends to begin with? Free your mind of negative thoughts and belittling beliefs. This one I am still working on ~~ society doesn't make this as easy as it sounds. FREE YOURSELF to be the person you were meant to be!!! I will always be a work in progress.

Are you stressed and under pressure?

Yes most of us are ready to pop our top.. But each day we continue along not knowing just how stressed we really are.

How heavy is this glass of water? The answer is the absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it. If you hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If you hold it for an hour, you'll have an ache in your right arm. If you hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer you hold it, the heavier it becomes.'

That's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on. '

As with the glass of water, we have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden. So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home......You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can.

So put down anything that may be a burden to you right now. Don't pick it up again until after you've rested a while.

Here are some great ways of dealing with the burdens of life:

* Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.

* Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.

* Always read stuff that will make you look good, if you die in the middle of reading it.

* If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

*If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

* It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to be kind to others.

* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.

* Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance. At least give it a try.

* Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.

* The second mouse gets the cheese.

* When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

* Birthdays are good for you.....the more you have, the longer you live.

* You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.

* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

* We could learn a lot from crayons.....some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.

*A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Are you persisent enough?

One person with commitment, persistence, and endurance will accomplish more than a thousand people with interest alone. The more diligently we work, the harder it is to quit. So many people begin the good fight of faith, but they soon forget to add persistence, patience, and endurance to their enthusiasm. Many times our dreams and plans appear not to be succeeding. We are often tempted to give up and quit trying. We should be PERSISENT ~ PERSISENT people begin their success where others quit. Never worry about how much equipment, money, or ability you are starting with....it's not what you have; it's what you do with what you have that makes all the difference!!

Where do you want to go?

You can start here and go anywhere you want to. It takes just as much effort to lead a bad life as it does a good life. Dissatisfaction is not the absence of things but the absence of vision. The significance of any person is determined by the cause for which he/she lives and the price he/she is willing to pay. You can predict a person's future by his awareness of his destiny. Life's heaviest burden is to have nothing to carry at all. In general people have too many opinions and not enough convictions. A man without principle never draws much interest. We all distrust our hearts too much and our heads not enough. What you set your heart on will determine how you spend your life. Do you know where you are going?

Are you happy?

Everything we do in life is either to get love, or to compensate for lack of love.

Most of our unhappiness in life comes from our tendency to blame someone else for something.

You can't give away something you that you don't have. You can't make others happy if you are unhappy. There's a huge difference between achieving to be happy and happily achieving.

If you were going to start over today, what changes would you make in your life?

Remember a time when you felt on top of the world? Were you happy?

To be truly happy, you need a clear sense of meaning and purpose in life. Do you know what your purpose is?

Wow that's a lot to digest. Read between the lines and you to will see it's true.

Its been 1 month 2 days 4 hours.... since Max left and I thought I would be getting along better by now. I couldn't sleep last night and went through our photo albums of course that didn't help me. Friends ask me how my other babies are doing and I will completely lose it. Sayde she has lost 7lbs and the only thing she will eat is Boiled Chicken and Rice. The vet says she is just mourning her partner. I feel at a complete loss as to how to help her. I know time heals all..but I WISH I COULD HAVE ONE MORE DAY!!

Lord knows how I miss my Buddy

Looking back on the memory of the dance we shared, beneath the stars above. For a moment all the world was right, how was I to know that you'd ever say goodbye? And now I'm glad I didn't know the way it all would end, the way it all would go. Our lives are better left to chance, I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss the dance.
The Dance - (Garth Brooks)

Max your Dad and I would never miss the dance. Today is a week ago that you were called home. You see Max was our first fur baby. Even though if you ask my husband that was his baby boy and the heir to his thrown! Max filled our lives with joy, happiness and the love he returned was unconditional. He was such a handsome little man; and he was always a happy boy. He loved to play and watch tv. There is not a place in our home that we can't see Max waiting for us. I have been reminiscing all day about his memory. We have 4 fur babies and we love 'em all but there will always be a special place in our hearts for our first fur baby. We love you Buddy and we will never forget you... No words can describe the loss and grief that your Dad and I are experiencing since you left.

Max, If I could have you back for just one day. Through the yard we'd play.. I promise I'd give it my very best, I promise buddy, we wouldn't rest
We'd play constantly, having fun, We'd enjoy the warmth of the sun, I'd give you my everything, my love would never fade, I promise, Max, things would be OK,
So long for now, my best friend. I promise you Max, my heart will never mend.
We Love you "Alexander Maxwell Elder" until we meet again. Until then, All our love, We send... Mom & Dad

Do you have faith in todays market ??

Getting ahead in a difficult market requires AVID FAITH in yourself. That is why some people with mediocre talent, but with great inner drive, go much futher than people with vastly superior talent. I know several people with that great inner drive that I wouldn't invite to dinner.

The problems of today cannot possibly be solved by skeptics or cynics whose abilities are limited by the obiovus realities. It takes imagination, ingenuity, and discovery to change the world.

Should we focus our energy on sharing ideas, finding solutions and using what is right with America to remedy what is wrong with it, I believe we can make a difference. But first it must start right here in our on home.

Well of course you have.. Who hasn't? Some people will call them failures but I believe that failure is really God's way of saying, "Excuse me, you're moving in the wrong direction." ( I've heard this a few times ;o) It's just an experience that all. We have got but one life here. It pays to try and accomplish things while were here. Gifts and talents are given to us to use not only so we can fulfill to the fullest the call in our own lives, but also so we can reach the souls who are attached to those gifts. Remember: it's not what you have, it's what you do with what you have that makes all the difference.

Invest In Yourself ~~~

One of the biggest mistakes we can make is to believe that we work for someone else. No matter how many bosses we may have, we really work for the Lord. Time invested in improving ourself precludes time wasted in disapproving others. Everything we say or do creates an investment somewhere. Whether that investment generates a dividend or a loss depends on us. Investment doesn't cost, it pays. We cannot fulfill our destiny without applying the principle of investing in ourselves. We should always do our best, for what we plant now we will harvest later.

When Your Green With Envy, You're Ripe For Problems

Envy is a tremendous waste of mental energy. It is the source of most unhappiness. Some people seem to know how to live everybodys lives but their own. Don't measure your success by what others haven't done. Having the right goals propels you to act from your vision and not from your circumstances. Don't envy anybody. Every person possesses something no other person has. Develop that one thing and make it outstanding. Criticizing another's garden doesn't keep the weeds out of your own. One of the most valulable decisions we can make is not to compare our own lives with what is happening in other people's lives. No one can build his destiny upon the success of another person.

Time is limited

Our time is limited, so we shouldn't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma ~~ which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
If In Doubt, DON'T

The lesson of compromise: when having to choose between the lesser of two evils, choose NEITHER. We have a choice. We should never settle for just anything; we should always seek the best. If anything is worth doing at all it should be worth doing well the first time! When compromise is allowed in one area, it always leaks out and begins to affect other areas. It also allows lies, deceit, and error to creep in and take over. Be a person of integrity. Remember to guard your reputation and take a stand today against compromise.

We should be the happiest, most enthusiastic, people on earth. Why is it we let the little things control our happiness? A smile is a powerful weapon. Smiling ~~ being happy and enthusiastic ~~ is always a choice and not a result. It can even break the ice. You'll find that being happy and enthusiastic is like a head cold ~~ it's very, very contagious. Our attitude always tells others what we can expect in return. Enthusiasm always motivates to action. Remember no significant accomplishment has ever been made without enthusiasm.

Go Out On A Limb ~~ That Is Where The Fruit Is

He who is afraid of doing too much always does too little. Unless we try to do something beyond what we have already mastered, we will never grow. We need to be bold and courageous. When we look back on our life, we'll regret the things we didn't do more than the things we did. To achieve all that is possble, we must attempt the impossible. Unless a man takes on more than he can possibly do, he will never do what he can. There are a lot of ways to become a failure, but never taking a chance is the most successful.

Mouse Story.....

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package.
"What food might this contain?" The mouse wondered.
He was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap. Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning. "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it."

The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The pig sympathized, but said, "I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers."

The mouse turned to the cow and said, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose."

So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap-- alone.

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house -- like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey.

The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught.

The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital and she returned home with a fever. Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient.

But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.

The farmer's wife did not get well; she died. So many people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them.

The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness.

So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you,
REMEMBER --
When one of us is threatened, we are all at risk.

We are all involved in this journey called life.
We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another.

The Doors of Opportunity Are Marked “PUSH”

Have you ever noticed that great people are never lacking for opportunities? Get aggressive and go after opportunities. They may not find you. The reason some people don't go very far in life is because they sidestep opportunity and shake hands with procrastination. Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried. Life is full of opportunities for doing what we are called to do. Start with what you can do, don't stop because of what you can't do. Great opportunities come to those who make the most of small ones. Always remember a wise man will make more opportunities than he finds!

My Crack Pot Friends

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream 'I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.'

The old woman smiled, 'Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?'

'That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them'

'For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.

Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.'

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.

You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

SO, to all of my crackpot friends and family, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

Can you be?

Once upon a time there was a bunch of tiny frogs....who arranged a running competition.

The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower.

A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants....

The race began....

Honestly:
No one in the crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower.

You heard statements such as:

"Oh, WAY too difficult!!"

"They will NEVER make it to the top."

or: "Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!"

The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one....

Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher....

The crowd continued to yell,** "It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!"

More tiny frogs got tired and gave up....

But ONE continued higher and higher and higher....
This one wouldn't give up!

At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top!

THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it?

A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal?

It turned out....

That the winner was DEAF!!!!

The wisdom of this story is:

Never listen to other people's tendencies to be** **negative or pessimistic....** Because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you -- the ones you have in your heart!** **

Always think of the power words have.
Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!

Therefore:

ALWAYS be....

POSITIVE!

**And above all:** **

**Be DEAF when people tell** YOU** That you cannot fulfill your dreams!** **

**Always think:** **

**God and I can do this!** **

WHY NOT TELL THE TRUTH

Have you ever wondered why someone would lie to you? Whether it is you're Clients, Customers, Mortgage Brokers, Fellow Realtors, and even your children. If I had one wish it would be for EVERYONE to tell the truth. I understand sometimes the truth hurts.. I had rather be told the truth any day rather than be lied to. What about your reputation and your character? What ever happened to being held accountable for your actions? Today is definitely different from when I was growing up. I would often watch my Dad seal the deal with a handshake because his word was good. You don't see that in today's society. Whew that felt good. I had to get that off my chest.
