Texas NASCAR Dickies 500 This Weekend!!

Well if you haven't parked your RV by now I do not know if you would even get a spot for this weekends NASCAR Dickies 500! I had to go to Ft Worth last Sunday and people were lining up to park their RV's for this weekends event.

The qualifying rounds start tomorrow with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series kicks off the NASCAR tripleheader weekend with practice and qualifying on 7-Eleven Qualifying Day. The gates open at 12 noon and the events start at 7.

Friday starts it's a day packed with NASCAR Busch and NEXTEL CUP practice and qualifying; action that will set the scene for their respective races. Gates open at 9:00 am and events start at 3:30. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will shine under the Texas Motor Speedway lights in the Silverado 350k. Championship contenders will have to conquer "The Great American Speedway" to keep their title hopes alive. This race begins at 8 pm.

And if that wasn't enough

Saturday is the O'Reilly Challenge will attract drivers from all NASCAR divisions in search of a prestigious visit to Victory Lane following the 300 miles of NASCAR Busch Series action. Gates open 10 am and the events start at 2:30.

Sunday the big race and the pressure is on in the Dickies 500 - the eighth of 10 races in the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL CUP to determine the 2007 champion. Will a championship contender rise to the occasion? Tony Stewart ruled the 2006 running - can he repeat or will another of NASCAR's superstars post their name among the winners in Victory Lane? A late-afternoon green flag will produce the closing laps under the lights - reuniting the popular day-night format for the Dickies 500. Gates open at 10am and events start at 2:30 pm.

If you would like to buy tickets, find out about different events, parking etc.

Go to www.texasmotorspeedway.com/

Sounds like alot of fun!!
Texas 31 Baylor 10

It wasn't exactly what Texas had in mind when it headed up to Waco for a meeting with a Baylor playing so poorly that its coach's job is in jeopardy. But survive is what the Longhorns had to do, using three fourth-quarter interceptions to pull away from the Bears for a 31-10 victory at Floyd Casey Stadium.

Alot of UT people are worried about games comming up against Tech and the Aggies. The Raiders have a really good running game and the Aggies will be out to win. With the numerous injuries and issues going on with Texas I hope that we can get our acts together before these big games!

Congrats Horns for this weeks win!

Carla Cullum

Keller Williams Dallas Ft Worth Denton

Texas vs. Baylor

The Univeristy of Texas Longhorns take on the Baylor Bears today at 12:30 Et

After McKoy has had some fustrating games he may be starting to turn in the right direction.

Coming off their first Big 12 win, the No. 19 Longhorns try to make up some ground in the conference race on Saturday as they go for their 10th straight win over Baylor. That was Texas' ninth consecutive victory over Baylor (3-4, 0-3), dating to a 23-21 road loss on Nov. 1, 1997. The Longhorns have outscored the Bears 455-89 during that win streak and shut them out four times, including a 118-0 margin in their last two visits to Baylor. The Bears have been blown out in each of their three Big 12 matchups, getting outscored 135-43.

Not unless I missed it. You will only be able to catch them game on your XM radio for big 12 coverage radio station or Yahoo sports if you have a subscription. Since this isn't a big game I do not think that it is boardcast.

Texas is 5-2 this season

Baylor is 3-4 this season

You can also go to the American Austin Statesman for scores!

http://www.statesman.com/

Hookem Horns!

Carla Cullum

Keller Williams Dallas Ft Worth Denton

Manufactured Home Help!! Your advice needed!

Ok I know that every part of the US is different but I am needing some advice!I have a young couple who are my clients. They have a Mobile(manufacture home) home out in the country with nearly an acre of land. They do not owe that much. We have it listed for the comps in the area and they are willing to go down to sale their place. The husband bought this when he was a bachelor and he did not care were he lived. Now they are married with a baby and they want to be in town closer to family. We have had it listed since the early summer. They have dropped the price to low..not as low as it could go but low. We have had all kind of activity. They had buyers but the husband was killed an accident so that sale did not go through. Then we had a couple that really wanted it but their credit scores were in the 400's. Now we have another couple who wants it but we are having a hard time finding someone who will finance a 2002 single wide. How do the manufactured home people sale these things?? The couple now fill that they made a bad choice and are stuck with this thing. But they have to have the money from the sale to buy a new home. I am trying to help them in anyway I can but since all the regulation changes on mortgages seems that no one could qualify for a Mobile home and if they could qualify they would be a house. I need any suggestions and or help figuring out what to do!

Thanks

Carla Cullum

Keller Williams Flower Mound

It will be neat to go ski when it is 110 degrees outside.

It seems though I cannot find any true information on it. I found out about it just word of mouth from other realtors in the area. Just thought I would pass the word and see if anyone out there knew anything about this?

Carla Cullum

Keller Williams Dallas Ft Worth

I did not lose that much :-(

Yes I went in for my check and weigh in that much yesterday. I was very discouraged. I had only lost 5 lbs this month. That is a total of 15! I have not drop a size yet but I did notice that my close fit me loosely. The Dr encouraged me to change a few things that I was doing. She told me that jumping rope..yes jumping rope like we use to is a great way to exercises. She does this and she has twin babies. She puts them in the play pin and she jumps rope to music. She exercises and they laugh because they think she is doing something funny..At least they aren't crying. She also encouraged me to do hand weights. I know that Dr Oz and The body for life have weight ideas in there that you can do with just hand weights. She said that your calories that you burn burn longer from doing weights than cardio and you are shaping and firming also. So I am going to Target today to get a jump rope and try something different! Until next month!! I hope I lose 8 to 10 lbs this month!!

Carla Cullum

Keller Williams Dallas Ft Worth

Have you guys ever wondered were they have come up with the words that you have to type in so you can comment?? I know I went to a small school in Texas. And I am blonde, and I may not be the brightess but I see some of these words and wonder what are they thinking?? I know blueberry a few others I wish I had written down some of the crazy ones so some people could tell me exactly what that word is..I know that this blog doesn't mean a hill of beans but I always have wondered if someone out there has ever wondered the same thing. I see some of these words and laugh and the others I am wondering who out there is laughing at me for typing them in or wondering what they mean.
I was not a very good longhorn this week!

Well I have to confess that I have not been a very good longhorn this week. In my blogs I keep everyone up to date about the up comming game, the channels and the time the game would be broadcast, and the stats etc before the kick off.

With the loss to OU and of Sweed last week and everything else going on in my life. My kids got out of school everyday at 1, I am a college student this semister, being a realtor, and owning an ebay store. I just did not have time.

I missed the game today and to be honest I am watching a local boy that my daughter went to high school with play at LSU. He is the hugh boy that will go to the NFL. H. Johnson he is 6 7" and weighs 345! He is an offensive lineman! So watch for him. Also Denton's own and longhorn D. Lockey. We have had some really good players come out of Denton is the last several years even though the Denton Schools have not done well in the high school ranks.

Anyway Texas did win!! The Longhorns snapped a four-game Big 12 losing streak in a big way - a 56-3 victory over Iowa State on Saturday. 56-3

And that is what I am talking about!! Good Luck to the Dallas Cowboys tomorrow! Sounds like they may need it!

Until next week!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am so thankful that I am a realtor! It gives me so much flexibility. I just started another business with my husband(We own an ebay store call Prairiechicboutique.net check us out!) and my kids have had a crazy school schedule this week getting out at 1 pm. So the flexibility for when my kids need me is a great bonus for us moms. Especially those of us who have more than one! I have 4 and they are in 3 different schools. I have a college daughter, a high school daughter, a jr high son, and a elementary son!

Carla Cullum

Keller Williams Flower Mound

Come to Denton

John B. Denton would have been proud. The eloquent minister, lawyer, soldier, and pioneer the city was named after wasn't afraid to try new things-and neither is Denton. You see, although the city is 150 years old, it continues to evolve and improve on the very things that made it unique in the first place. It is a community that clings to its past while embracing its future.

Denton's two major universities, the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University, have greatly contributed to the culture and energy of the city. Be it by bringing home sports titles (including the recent Sun Belt Conference men's basketball championship) or bringing in big-name musicians like Harry Connick Jr.

Stepping inside the community, you'll find modern art galleries mixed in with antique shops, and classical musicians jamming alongside local dub and hip-hop DJs at some of the best live venues in North Texas. Continuing the performing artist theme, Denton Community Theatre hosts a variety of stage productions at the Campus Theatre-a renovated movie house that once hosted the 1967 world premiere of Bonnie and Clyde.

Finally, there's the Square. A century-old reminder of the city's history. But next to the antique shops and ice cream parlor, visitors find storefronts that feature new shopping concepts like custom bath products and wine bottling. Vintage and new on the same block. Mr. Denton would feel right at home.

I know that this is not really real estate but I thought it would be cute for a table decoration if you were having a fall open house.

She is really easy to make. It is a large and a small foam pumkin from Michaels. I spray painted the base black and then light glitter gold/orange. She has an orange glitter bow. I did pain her face on but I am no artist. Her fuzzy legs came from Michales too they are large pipe cleaners and I made holes and glued them in! To make her was less than $20.

Happy Halloween!

Carla Cullum

Keller Williams Flower Mound

Why don't other Texas realtors take seriouse??

I recently posted about the Prop 6 up for vote on the up comming Nov. 6th election. Either people do not know about it or they act like they do not believe me. I have even had a few say ohhh they have been trying to get tax from us for years. Well you know what..Texas realtors are so nevious about it that at the Greater Lewisville Association of Realtors they had people from the Texas Realtors Association there to speak to us about it and give us stickers to wear.

I came home and looked up the informatio You can go to http://www.texasrealtors.com/web/4/32/pa_programs/prop6.htmln.

Amendment will protect your car from unfair tax
Texas legislators recently passed a bill that could end the insidious fee called mixed-use vehicle taxation that targets REALTORS® and many other independent contractors. However, there is one final hurdle: statewide ratification by voters. This is the do-or-die step to ensure that all Texas REALTORS® won't have to pay $600 or more in additional taxes per year.

So take me seriously! If we don't vote yes on Nov 6th for Prop 6

We will all now get a new tax on our cars. Yes if you are a husband and wife team that goes double for you! IF you child is a pizza girl or guy then you will get triple taxed!

So vote yes to Prop 6 on Nov. 6th!

Carla Cullum

Keller Williams Flower Mound Texas

Texas 21 OU 28

Yea I know that we lost and allot of people expected me to be down but I am actually happy! I think the boys played wonderful today. To be honest I was thinking that it was going to be something like 65 to 10 or 45 to 12. I really changed my way of thinking after reading the Austin American Statesman. I know that coach Brown and the boys would not drive all the way to Dallas for nothing. Coming here defeated before they hit the field. Once I thought of the way Coach Brown and the Team would be looking at it I totally changed my mind.

I thought that the game was a hard fought back and forth kinda of match! Texas seemed to pressure OU into making allot of mistakes. There were allot of calls, yellow fags, etc more than both of these teams had allowed all year. Both young quarterbacks handled the pressure of the game well. Even though I was worried that McCoy wasn't going to get up after having his bell rung pretty good.(He had a concussion last week) I saw allot of great hits buy defense men and you know what kind of kicker you have when we can tackle the guy who just caught his punted ball.

I did not see who were the players of the game because we left to make it to church. But I was very Proud of our Denton Boys. Especially D. Lokey. He is a Sr at UT and made some very good stops today. Watch for him in the NFL draft! I am sure we will be picked up he is a huge guy with alot of talent.

I know that we can not win every game.OU has lost the last two years. Our team is still learning..the quarterback in only a Soph. As well as the quarterback from OU. I think right now that OU has the better team. I am not saying that because they won. I watch alot of college ball every Sat. So I keep up. The game was great. I am glad we did not get killed out there and I am glad that Colt Mckoy did not get knocked out of the game! It was a great game!

I still love my boys! Go Horns'

Carla Cullum

Keller Williams Flower Mound

Either Oklahoma State or Texas A&M will go 2-0 in the Big 12 on Saturday, but odds are the Big 12 South champion still comes from this game. The last time neither the Sooners nor the Longhorns went to the Big 12 title game was 1998.
Player to watch: For the first time all season, Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford looked like a freshman in last week's 27-24 loss at Colorado. A matchup against Texas isn't exactly the ideal bounce-back game. Bradford still leads the nation in passing efficiency, though.
Best matchup: Texas' rush defense vs. Oklahoma's rush game. The Longhorns know shutting down Allen Patrick and DeMarco Murray could be the key in rattling Bradford and forcing turnovers.

Red River is Here!!

Anyone who knows anythingabout Dallas knows that this is the red river shootout weekend. When the gates open and all of Oklahoma decides to desend on Texas. My children were out of school today at 1 pm. I had to run several errands and I live off of I35 in Denton. The traffic was at a standstill. The sea of Chrisum was here. There OU flags waggin in the air, moble homes decked out with anything and everything OU. I am sure if you were comming from Austin you would see the same. We have no tickets to the game. They are sometime impossible to come by but I do not know if I really want to go. It is always a mess. But we are thinking about going down town to watch the game on a hugh screen. I love the longhorns and will wear my orange with pride. Win or Lose. It is so funny because I have many friends that are Sooners. We actually have 2 friends on their cheer squad right now and we are just excited to see them cheer as if they are wearing orange. This weekend is alot of fun and we can root for our team win or lose its time to have fun with friends no matter which side you are cheering for!

Carla Cullum

Keller Williams Dallas/Ft Worth

Texas OU Weekend!! Who do you pick!!

Started this week I just get that feeling. It's happens every time when it is that time of year.

I go into this week of the red river shootout against Texas-OU thinking that I'm going to predict an Oklahoma victory (like everybody else), and then I start to rethink what I am thinking. This week, it happened around noon Tuesday after reading several newsarticles about the game. The Texas players and coaches - the guys who've beaten Oklahoma easily the past two years - sure didn't seem like a bunch that was about to go to Dallas to get blown out. So I started to shift my thinking on this game.

Odds are, Oklahoma will win. I understand that.

The rationale? I've been around Texas-OU long enough to know to expect the unexpected. When a game seems like a sure thing, it's usually not. So, put me down for the Longhorns in an upset.

How ‘bout you? Here's your chance to get your score prediction on record. Post a comment and call your shot.
