Black Canyon National Park, Gunnison CO

Our family needed a weekend drive October 2008 and took a trip the Black Canyon between Montrose and Gunnison Colorado. We had one of those days you just need to get away.

We headed out from Grand Junction heading south on Hwy 6&50 to Montrose and happened upon a Pumpkin Chunkin event put on by Olathe Fire Department, what a sight to see. Pumpkins flying until you could not even see them; we just looked for the dirt cloud when they hit the ground. They had a corn maze, pumpkin carving, and other event for the children to enjoy.

After a good hour of pumpkins flying we heading south again to Montrose, had to visit this shop that sells old antiques for a look at they inventory. Of all things to find in the middle of Colorado, odd ship buoys or floats, six of they where added to our trip.

We then headed west towards Gunnison and entered the Black Canyon Park. What beauty to see, this canyon is so different thru out the whole park. We took a hiking trail from a pull over to the visitor center, toured and still more hiking up the rim. Here are some of the pictures for all to enjoy.

HOME STAGING IN A BUYERS MARKET. WHY?

Staging in a buyers market is very important. You are now having buyers looking at a larger inventory of homes for sell; your house needs to be that step above the homes that are its comparable. It is about what they remember about your house, the floor plan, smells, lighting, clutter, and condition.

We at Peak Home Design & Staging take your home and address all of these factors and more. Sellers as homeowners are somewhat jaded, because the seller liked their home or they would not of purchased it. Get more eyes, the seller may need to ask a friends or family over and let them look at the selling home as if they were going to purchase the house for them self's. Be open to issues they see, listen, then address them. Correcting concerns before a buyer showing, can make your home selling a lot smoother.

De-clutter - things your have not used in a year or two, sell, donate or trash.

Clean - Clean it as if it is a new-built home, windowsills, doors, wash windows, and screens.

Condition - Check the door handles, hinges, fix trim, touch up paint, make it in tip top condition.

You are now in the world of real estate as the seller, remember this home may be one of the largest investments you may ever make, treat it so. Stage it!

Traveling to the Western Slope of Colorado?

Plan a fall trip to see the alpine foliage in full color on the Grand Mesa National Forest in September and October. They are just amazing. Our family went up and over the Grand Mesa this last fall. We hit it at one of the peak weekends. Aspen leave colors are so varied. Here in Colorado it means our winter sports are just a month or two away. Colorado has great skiing, and snowmobiling, snowshoeing and sledding.

Pictures speak louder then word so here are a few.

To enjoy the Grand Mesa in Mesa Colorado, go east out of Grand Junction, Colorado on I-70 to Hwy 65 to start up the road to Grand Mesa National Forest the road ends by Delta, Colorado at Hwy 92 take to Delta catch Hwy 50 and either go back to Grand Junction or head south to see more amazing Colorado.

Vacant Real Estate Staging - PHD's niche market

Peak Home Designs & Staging has enjoyed developing vacant parcel staging. We work closely with the listing realtor(s) and seller(s) to present a property booklet and service that goes steps beyond.

We offer the service to make hellicopter narratives for our large land parcels, one of kind properties and developments. The narratives included all flight time to and from, to make sure the client gets an overview on the surrounding areas history, recreation, towns and much more. The clients and buyers airtravel often includes the use of surrounding private helicopter pads or small private airports for ground showings, which can be arranged.

Each time we do vacant land staging service we find we are adding more items to bring to the buyer. We are here to show case the property above all others. Most parcels are so unique. Some of our parcels housed historic sites, mines, springs, and rare trout.

Peak Home Designs & Staging has work in this niche market for three years.

Reno fishing? Great.

My husband Mike and son Thad have been planing the years big fishing trip. Where to go? They decided on Reno NV. They found a guided fishing trip with a local fly shop and booked the long awaited trip. This was just the guys trip, and after the airplane flight and six hours in the jeep, they arrived in Reno.

Rested and ready the next day they headed out to find the fly shop and make sure of the schedule time for Sunday's big day on the river. Later that day they headed to Lake Tahoe for some sightseeing, jeeping and good eats. Arriving back to Reno for the tourist, self guided tour.

Sunday arrived and headed out with their guide, thru town and parked at the end of a city street. What fly fishing here? Walking between the houses and heading over the railroad tracks the Truckee River was in sight. They were very surpised at the location. We are Rocky Mountian people that hike to rivers and fly fish (not all the time). All in all, the sceanery was nice and the fishing GREAT. Our family wanted to share the pictures of the brown and rainbow they caught and released.

This was a great trip for them and sure when they plan next years trip it will be hard to beat this 2007 trip.

Lady Hudson, 10 weeks of fun!

I would like to share with you our new addition is Lady Hudson and is an Old English Bull Dogge. She arrived two weeks ago to our Grand Junction family. Isn't she cute! She now has a Yellow Labador, Holly and Black American Cocker Spaniel, Hitch to play with.

This dog has been wanted for years by my husband. We moved to Mesa county last December and have been getting proper kennel ready. She was born July 6, 2007. We got the 24 x 44 ft kennel done 4 days before she arrive here.

We found there was more then one type of bulldog. We love the healthly aspects of the Old English Bull Dogge. This breed is new to our family. Hudson will get 15 inches tall and weight 60 lbs, little dogge in a big package. Since getting her two weeks ago she had gained 10 pounds.

We are finding her to grow up very quickly.

Here is her new playmates Hitch and Holly.
