AQHA Horse Babies In Payson Arizona

Well, it's that time of year again when our new AQHA horse babies come into the world. The breeding season went well last year and as a result we have new babies on the ground this year. I will be posting the new arrivals as soon as they get here.

"Sharin A Stone" AQHA Mare, was the first to have her foal. Sharin's baby is a very large filly that looks like a winner. Born in February this filly has her sires" Im Impressev Redford" AQHA Stallion's, beautiful head. Here is a picture of her baby only hours old. Thank you to Jose Huerta of Rio Rico, Arizona.

Horses Deal With Snowy Weather In Payson Arizona

Horses seem to love the snow. Even with warm barns to escape the snow, horses seem to love to be out in the white stuff. They will often play and romp around and act as if they really do enjoy the snow. I took a few pictures of the snow at "The Ranch At Diamond Point"

Hashknife Pony Express Riders Come To Christopher Creek Arizona

It was a beautiful day in Christopher Creek Arizona. The weather clear and the sun was shining on the tall green pine trees.The air was filled with anticipation of the lone pony express rider's entrance into town.

Neither rain, sleet, nor dark of night can stop the Hashknife Pony Express. Each January for the last 49 years, the old west is brought to life as an elite group of riders thunder through Arizona. This exciting event is the oldest officially sanctioned Pony Express in the world. Each rider is sworn in as an honorary mail messenger braving weather, terrain, and modern-day obstacles to deliver the United States mail.

Beginning in historic Holbrook, the horseback mail route covers over 200 miles from the majestic Mogollon Rim through the wilderness of the Mazatzal range to the desert city of Scottsdale to kick off the Scottsdale Jaycees Parada del Sol celebration

The hand off was repeated with all of the mail bags of thousands of letters, so every pony express letter is carried by horseback before the arrival of the U.S. Mail at the Scottsdale Post Office on Osborn Road.

Designated Pony Express letters are each stamped with a special cachet that is a collector's item. Letters that are mailed from the Holbrook Post Office are also stamped with an official Pony Express Station cachet. Once the Pony Express Mail is delivered to the Scottsdale Post Office, it is then delivered to the addressee by conventional mail delivery.

The riders stoped to give a framed and signed poster to Cindy the owner of the Creekside Restaurant and bar. Please enjoy some pictures of the days festivities.

It's that time of year again to celebrate our nations Independence from England, and what a show it was. Payson residents and visitors alike gathered to see the show and get a chance to pay their respect to our forefathers who risked their lives to create a system of government that said all men are created equal under the law. Wow, that gives me goose bumps.

The cars were backed up over 1.5 miles coming into Payson on Friday and lined up to see the show. Payson has a pretty good firework show for our size and it all went off with out a hitch.

Real Estate Sales Are Picking Up In Payson Arizona!

Hey! Don't wait to long, you may miss the boat. Things are starting to pick up in Payson and surrounding areas of the Rim Country. We are starting to see a lot more traffic in our office and calls and emails are up as well. I believe the fed will drop rates again soon and really get things into high gear. My lender friends are telling me the refinance business is booming. This refinancing boom will start to pump more money into the economy and low prices and great deals will start to go away. The time to buy is NOW. Some of the properties listed in Payson are at their lowest point of this cycle. Yes the market was over heated, but sellers have made adjustments and we have some properties available that I wish I could buy! Oh well can't buy everything.

Time to Buy a Larger Horse Property?

I think it's time to buy a larger horse property. As you may know my father and I just had two new AQHA Babies , boy are they cute! We love horses and are really enjoying the horse business. About a year ago I decided to start a new company with my father and get back into the horse business. When I was a boy our family moved into a house next to a large AQHA breeder. As a twelve year old I was fascinated with the horses and spent most of my free time in and around the horses and the old man that owned them. Over the years I learned the old cowboy way of breeding Quarter Horses for cutting,racing and show. This breeder had about 50 mares and would bring in some of the top stallions of the day to breed with these mares. After a few months I went to work for the Quarter Horse breeder taking care of the babies and riding the stallions and some of the greenest brood mares in Arizona. Back in those days we fed alfalfa hay cubes and all the molasses they could eat. The combination of hay cubes and molasses will make horses fat and over energized. We have learned a lot since then and are using our knowledge to raise what we feel will be some of the top AQHA Halter Horses in The U.S. And that gets back to needing a bigger place. As I look out my window I see the rain dripping down the glass. With rain comes the flowers and the green trees. May get snow on Wednesday, think I'll go to the Horse Show http://suncircuit.com/ in Scottsdale this week and see who shows up for the mud. Oh well, what a great day to buy real estate in Payson Arizona.

The rain is a good thing, I think the draught is over for now. The rivers in Star Valley are full and running down hill to the Valley.My Quarter Horses love the rain, they stand out in it even when they have a perfectly good barn to stand in. That sounds like some people I know, standing out in the rain even when we have some of the best interest rates and best buys in a long time.

With the lower rates will come movement in the housing market and eventually higher prices too. In 25 years in real estate I have seen this happen many times, yet when you try to tell people that, they look at you like you have lost your mind. Guess what, it will happen and I hav'nt lost my mind, yet.
