PARSIPPANY, N.J. (Feb. 9, 2009) – Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLC today announced it grew the office count within its network by more than 10 percent in 2008, ending the year with 10,750 sales associates located in more than 500 offices in 39 countries and territories worldwide.

“According to the National Association of Realtors^®, for all of 2008 existing-home sales were 13.1 percent below the transactions recorded in 2007, which is the lowest volume since 1997. In this environment, the Sotheby’s International Realty^® brand actually grew its office count by 10.7 percent, demonstrating a true demand for our services in the global arena,” said Michael R. Good, president and chief executive officer, Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLC. “As well, we welcomed an additional 1,726 sales associates, which reflects our strength and appeal as a brand. I also am very proud that we received two industry honors in 2008, underscoring the value consumers and our affiliates place on the Sotheby’s International Realty brand and what it has to offer.”

Last year saw the addition of 19 firms across 10 states: New Jersey, Utah, Massachusetts, Washington, California, Colorado, Florida, Delaware, New York and North Carolina. As well, 30 Sotheby’s International Realty affiliated companies expanded by opening new offices to widen their market coverage.

Hopkinton, Massachusetts (Jan. 26, 2009)— Hallmark Sotheby’s International Realty, a luxury real estate firm based in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, today announced that its brand Web site, www.sothebysrealty.com, soon will be multi-lingual with the addition of seven new languages.

All functional and static information on the Web site were translated into Spanish and Portuguese this month. It also will be translated into French, Italian, German, Russian and traditional Chinese within the next few weeks. Translations will be done by professional translators based in each respective country, not by machine translation methods.

The brand added a currency conversion to the Web site earlier this year.

It had to be one of the most beautiful fall days in New England... two of my bravest Realtors, Suzanne Hart and Mary Ellen Wasielewski agreed to play in the annual Hopkinton Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament with me. As a Chamber Board Member this was the first year I had the privilege to play with other women! I was not able to recruit a fourth so Rob Phipps had the honor of playing in our group (what a lucky guy!) We truly could not have asked for a better foursome. Not only is Rob a member of the club but he plays golf 4 times a week! He was very patient with us and we laughed more than we actually hit the ball!

We all agreed that this was an amazing way to spend a beautiful fall day. Video to come soon....

I recently had the privilege of attending the Sotheby's International Realty Broker-Owner Orientation in Short Hills, New Jersey. Aside from three very educational days of learning more about the power of the brand and the industry in general was the networking among an extraordinary and successful group of real estate professionals consisting of Owners, Brokers and key managers.

One of the highlights of this event was taking a chartered bus from Short Hills to New York City to get a private tour and dinner in the Board Room of the Sotheby's Auction House.

It truly was a surreal moment for me as I looked around the room and realized the history of the auction house and the quality of the crowd surrounding me. For the first time since I launched the new company I took a few minutes to appreciate the journey of my career. I had myself almost in tears but they were happy and proud tears.

As a 34 year old entrepreneur and sole Owner of Hallmark Sotheby's International Realty I find events such as this priceless.
