      <title>How to STAND OUT in Order to Remain Standing</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;There&amp;nbsp; are so many trends in real estate nowadays.&amp;nbsp; Our profession is one of cycles, as most businesses are, and one of &amp;quot;what&amp;#39;s in it for me.&amp;quot;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Yet, there is a shift happening not only in the marketplace, but also within each agent and client.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So, the question is, how do we STAND OUT in order to remain standing?&amp;nbsp; How do we make it through the next few months as the market begins to shift again and come out on top?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;First and foremost, we MUST realize that this profession, isn&amp;#39;t about a &amp;quot;what&amp;#39;s in it for me&amp;quot;.&amp;nbsp; IT HAS TO BE &amp;quot;What can I do for others?&amp;quot;&amp;nbsp; In that regard, I want to help you as you read this with some informatin&amp;nbsp;that will impact your current situation so you stay with the flow of the game and hopefully ahead of it.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Stefan Swanepoel, who as many of you know is the uber-analyst for Real Estate trends, gives these numbers:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;2.4 Million people are licensed agents - According to NAR&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;1.3 Million are Members of NAR&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;725,000 have Basic Skills&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;400,000 have Designations&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Top 17% of the total&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;220,000 have Advanced Training&lt;/strong&gt; -&amp;nbsp;Top 9% total&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;120,000 are mentored or coached&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; -&amp;nbsp;Top&amp;nbsp;5% total&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;These numbers were an eye opener.&amp;nbsp; As I look around in our local market, many agents I run into are in the top tiers.&amp;nbsp; But, the agents your potential clients run into may not be.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So, how does impact you?&amp;nbsp; Where are you in the list?&amp;nbsp; Let&amp;#39;s say you have a designation.&amp;nbsp; So you are one of the 400,000.&amp;nbsp; When you go in to a client appointment, you may mention your designation, but does the client realize what it means?&amp;nbsp; Usually NO.&amp;nbsp; &lt;strong&gt;What would happen if you approached it a different way?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;What if you said, &amp;quot;The work that goes with this designation helps me advise you better and only 17% of all agents hold designations, so for me it is an honor to offer this additional service to you.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Would this be compelling enough for the client to say yes and see that you STAND OUT?&amp;nbsp; I think so. &lt;strong&gt;Further, our society is TIRED of being sold.&amp;nbsp; They want an advisor.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt; Advising vs. selling makes you STAND OUT.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Now, let&amp;#39;s step it up a bit.&amp;nbsp; You have a mentor.&amp;nbsp; Now you are in the&amp;nbsp;5% of agents in the business that go beyond to achieve excellence.&amp;nbsp; That is huge!&amp;nbsp; &lt;strong&gt;Your clients should know - because this &lt;u&gt;HELPS THEM&lt;/u&gt;.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Not everyone can afford a coach.&amp;nbsp; Our EXIT Associates can leverage their Brokers or Sponsors since they all take great pride in becoming a mentors to our agents.&amp;nbsp; Just as a quick&amp;nbsp;example, &lt;a href=&quot;http://activerain.com/dangelofnb&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;Frank D&amp;#39;Angelo&lt;/a&gt;, in our Blaine office, hosts a Wednesday workshop every week just to tune up his agents&amp;#39; online presence.&amp;nbsp; That is hands on coaching at its finest.&amp;nbsp; I am fortunate that with &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.exitrealtymn.com&quot; title=&quot;Stand out in order to remain standing&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;EXIT&lt;/a&gt;, our &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.exitrealtymn.com/training&quot; title=&quot;stand out and remain standing&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;training&lt;/a&gt;is off the charts.&amp;nbsp; We have local training, Traveling Trainers, Online Training, Interactive Video training, the list goes on and on.&amp;nbsp; &lt;u&gt;Advanced training.&lt;/u&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;strong&gt;We&amp;#39;re looking at the best 9% in the business for&amp;nbsp;EXIT Associates&amp;nbsp;.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If your office doesn&amp;#39;t have that level of coaching&amp;nbsp;- find it.       <title>The WHY of Real Estate...</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;Some&amp;nbsp;145 of&amp;nbsp;my colleagues from all&amp;nbsp;across the real estate world&amp;nbsp;had the privilege of hearing Tami Bonnell, President of EXIT Realty for U.S. Operations this past Tuesday at the Calhoun Beach Club.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;She spoke about the State of the Market and how we can each make shifts in our business to maximize the current situation.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Here are some things to think about:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;1.&amp;nbsp; Why are you in Real Estate?&amp;nbsp; What makes you get out of bed every morning? &lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Are you doing this for the money? Your family? Because you love houses?&amp;nbsp; Because you love people?&amp;nbsp; You really enjoy the autonomy? &lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Each of us has a different reasons.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Many of the Brokers I work with are doing this not only to provide a better situation for their families, but also to give their agents the opportunities to succeed that they didn&amp;#39;t have. So many had to struggle to get to the level of success they enjoy now.&amp;nbsp; The WHY for them is WHY can&amp;#39;t I do something to make it better for others through cooperation, respect and a little pat on the back for motivation.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Tami Bonnell told a touching story of the WHY for a couple from the Dominican Republic.&amp;nbsp; This couple came to the United States some years ago and made a life for themselves thanks to real estate and residual income.&amp;nbsp; At a recent EXIT Convention, they got an urgent phone call and were told that they had to hurry home.&amp;nbsp; Being gracious guests, they approached Steve Morris, CEO and Founder of EXIT, to thank him for the week and let him know they had to leave early.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Steve said to them that he hoped it was nothing serious.&amp;nbsp; So they informed him that their attorney had called and asked them to return as soon as possible.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; They continued with&amp;nbsp;a THANKS to Steve, because the news was that they had been given the final okay to open their orphanage in the Dominican Republic, which&amp;nbsp;was funded through residual income. &amp;nbsp; For them, this was the reason WHY they were in the business,&amp;nbsp; not only to help those needing to buy a home, but also to help those children who needed to be blessed with a home and future families in the Dominican Republic.&amp;nbsp; That is a very special WHY! Isn&amp;#39;t it?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So, take a moment to discover your WHY?&amp;nbsp; It has to mean something to you!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;2.&amp;nbsp; Have you planned your next year?&amp;nbsp; Use November 1st as NEW YEAR&amp;#39;S Day.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;How do you want to finish the year?&amp;nbsp; How do you want to start the new year?&amp;nbsp; Are you BALANCED in what you hope to accomplish?&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; It is so important to have a definite and balanced LIFE/BUSINESS Plan.&amp;nbsp; Now, why do I group those together?&amp;nbsp; The two go hand in hand.&amp;nbsp; If you don&amp;#39;t know where you are going personally and professionally, how do you know how to get there?&amp;nbsp; You need a whole life plan for balance in all areas.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Start with the broad strokes and work your way down.&amp;nbsp; There might be a number of steps from point A to point B.&amp;nbsp; All that matters is focus and the actions you take to get there.&amp;nbsp; As yourself, what is the highest and best use of my time?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;3.&amp;nbsp; Who holds you accountable?&amp;nbsp; Who is your coach?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Who is the most influential person in your life?&amp;nbsp; What if they rode around on your shoulder?&amp;nbsp; What would they say to you?&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; We all need someone to keep us on track.&amp;nbsp; To give us a gentle, yet firm elbow to the ribs if we are not where we should be or doing things that might not be to our benefit.&amp;nbsp; If you have an accountability coach, make sure they are not a friend or relative.&amp;nbsp; They won&amp;#39;t want to hurt your feelings.&amp;nbsp; Find someone you respect that is at a little bit of a distance so they can help you gain perspective.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So,&amp;nbsp;now you have a lot to think about and&amp;nbsp;I know it will help you in where ever you wish to go.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;One last thought:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;At a minimum you should ask yourself everyday: What have I done to help others today?&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Sound funny?&amp;nbsp; Well, think about it.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; In our business, our ultimate goal is to help someone meet their goal of obtaining or selling a real property or other related situations.&amp;nbsp; So, if YOUR focus is on others, and you do anything right, only good will follow.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

Six sessions scheduled over the course of &amp;nbsp;6 months gave Michael and Julie to opportunity to achieve their two-fold purpose: they wanted to address the needs and member requests for Broker Support and to develop a future Broker Training Course.&amp;nbsp; They donated &lt;em&gt;WORKSHOP 301 Course - Building A Brokerage&lt;/em&gt; for the foundation for Broker Training for the group to fine tune and ultimately get approval for continuing education.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For the first session, invitations were personally extended to the small brokers in the area&amp;nbsp;and the room was full and quite lively. &amp;quot;It was a beautiful sight to see: 50 competitors, who typically will only interact with one another in the course of a dispute, exchanging business cards, ideas and making plans to get together&amp;quot; was Michaels take on the morning.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The philosophy is simple: successful, supported and educated brokers will attract successful agents which will strengthen our industry and increase professionalism in the market.&amp;nbsp; It was evident that everyone in the room had the same thought: &amp;quot;there is enough business for everyone, you can never have too many friends and if one entrepreneur fails its bad for everybody, so what can we do to help?&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sessions range from a discussion of 11 Brokerage Models and Revenue Centers to&amp;nbsp;lead generation, driving sales and profitability, recruiting, retention, agent loyalty, sales meetings, training, and free Broker resources.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;quot;We were also happy that the St. Paul Board of Realtors has decided to support this program&amp;quot; explained Julie.&amp;nbsp; &amp;quot;Michael and I will duplicate the program and facilitate these sessions which began in July with St. Paul&amp;#39;s Broker/Members.&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How great is is that once a month the small brokers get together to learn from each other and fill their gas tanks so to speak! &amp;nbsp;After all, who is going to look out for them when they are looking out for everyone else? &amp;nbsp; To find out more about EXIT Realty or the Small Broker Support Network contact Julie Olson at 952-697-5888 or Michael Lynch at 651-698-5025.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/td&gt;&lt;/tr&gt;&lt;/tbody&gt;&lt;/table&gt;&lt;/td&gt;&lt;/tr&gt;&lt;/tbody&gt;&lt;/table&gt;</description>
