One Of God's Greatest Gifts / The Ability To Fail Like A Moron

After my last post this seems appropriate again. We can't survive or strive if we let the short sighted among us deyne us the right to fail, because failure is the opposite side of the success coin! You simply can't have one with out the other.

Being empty nester's, Brenda and I more often than not watch the news during dinner, some days we make the mistake of paying to much attention. We heard that home owners never knew they had to make their payments and there ought to be a new law to protect them. Then they were interviewing high school students who had obviously not been allowed to fail, but socially promoted. Functional morons.

What about the poor morons?Then I remember that it had been suggested that Loan Originators should have kept these morons from these terrible loans. But, for more than three decades we've had civil rights laws that strive to take discrimination out of lending! Also in the name of civil rights we've developed the greatest opportunity for home ownership known to man!

The opportunities/the tools, were the very things that they would have the Loan Originators selectively discriminate the morons from! The only legal way to protects morons is to deny everyone the programs that helped so many.

What about the poor morons, they are not to stupid to get an attorney or call the state or the FTC and complain if they think you've keep them from a loan or home they qualified for. They would be in the right!

We could rewrite the law, that's easy! But, what about the overwhelming majority that use the same programs and succeeded?

Let's put this in a different perspective, Brilliant Little Janie is now in school, many students fail in school! Because of her carrying parents, she does well, maybe failure just isn't in her genes. Sitting next to her in first grade is Little Johnny Moron, who's parents don't care. Little Johnny is going to fail first grade. It's hurts to be called a failure! It hurts to fail. So we pass a law restricting what can be taught to first graders, so that even the Moron's kids can't fail.

The Moron's mother likes the new law, her kid can't fail. But, what about Little Jannie parents? Their daughter was going to succeed beyond their wildest dreams, but now to insure that the Moron's kids pass Little Jannie can't be challenged. She can't have the opportunity to succeed because Little Johnny Moron can be allowed to fail.

Failure is one of God's greatest gifts. Failure inspires great men and women! Failure empowers people knowing you can survive failure is one of mankind's most important asset. Failure can trap some, but they were already doomed, not everyone can succeed. Would you really limit Little Janie and everyone else to protect Little Johnny's feelings? Really?

Would you over turn 148 years of progress and the great accomplishments of the last 30 years, to keep a few from failing? Really?

Are you the one to decided who deserves a home of their own?

Everyone deserves the opportunity to fail! God gave mankind freewill knowing that we'd become sinners. Of what value would life be without the opportunity for personal success? Those that believe "it takes a village" see others as nothing more than swine in a sty!

Those that say there ought to be a law, forget there already is! If laws are broken then I suggest we try enforcing the existing ones before we further restrict everyone!

As 2009 draws to a close....... I thought I would review the Real Estate activities of Greater Victoria's Fernwood Real Estate.

Fernwood Single Family Sales since January Total 110 Homes Sold with an 2009 year to date Average Selling Price of $464,571 with an average of 25 days on the market.

Fernwood Single Family Pending Sales Total 5 with an average selling price of $ 460,400 with an average of 8 days on the market.

It would appear Fernwood Single Family Real Estate sale prices are steady, and the days on the market have decreased.

Currently there are 6 Single Family Homes For Sale in Fernwood with an Average asking price of $ 587,467 the the lowest on Denman Street at $169,900 to $679,000 for a home on Fell Street

History of Victoria BC Residential development began in earnest in the 1890s, and many homes in western Fernwood and along Fernwood Road itself date from this era. In the early 1900s a large area west of Fernwood Road was used as a sand and gravel pit to supply construction materials to local builders, to the dismay of many early residents. The problem was partly solved by the construction of the present Victoria High School in 1912 on some of the lands that had been used as the sand and gravel pit. Historically, a spring in Fernwood supplied Victoria with its main source of water, hence the earlier name of the neighborhood, Springridge. In 1875 Victoria began piping water from Elk Lake, and in 1885, the site of the original springs became the location of the Empire Brewery.

It would appear Rockland Single Family Real Estate sale prices are down, and the days on the market have increased.

Currently there are 7 Single Family Rockland Homes For Sale with an Average asking price of $ 1,781,400 ranging in price from $599,900 for a home on Rockland Ave and up to $2,995,000 for a home on St. Charles.

It would appear Victoria BC Single Family Real Estate sale prices are currently up, and the days on the market have decreased.

Currently there are 709 Single Family Homes For Sale with an Average asking price of $ 1,167,321 the the owest in Prt Renfrew at $169,900 to 18 Million for a home in Metchosin

History of Victoria BC Prior to the arrival of the Captain James Cook in the late 1700s, the Victoria area was home to several communities of Coast Salish peoples, including the Songhees. The Spanish and British took up the exploration of the northwest coast of North America beginning with the visits of Juan Perez in 1774 and of Captain James Cook in 1778, although the Victoria area of the Strait of Juan de Fuca was not penetrated until 1790. Spanish sailors visited Esquimalt Harbour (within the modern Capital Regional District) in 1790, 1791, and 1792.

I recently drove through the South side of Fairfield along Dallas Road and took a Video of the homes by the Ocean to give you an idea of the area and Character of Fairfield Real Estate.
History of Fairfield, Fairfield is the southern-most neighbourhood in the city of Victoria, on southern Vancouver Island. It is Victoria's largest community by population and area. Having founded the Hudson's Bay Company's (HBC) Fort Victoria in the 1850s, Sir James Douglas acquired for himself a large property between Fort Street and Clover Point, which he called Fairfield Farm.

I recently drove through James Bay and I took a Video of the homes along the Dallas Road waterfront to give you an idea of the Character of James Bay Real Estate .

History of James Bay, James Bay is the oldest residential neighbourhood on the West coast of North America that is north of San Francisco. James Bay is surrounded on three sides by the ocean, is typically 3 to 5 degrees Celsius (5 to 10 °F) cooler in summer than downtown Victoria. In winter, James Bay is typically a few degrees warmer than other parts of Victoria. It therefore receives significantly less snow than other parts of Greater Victoria. Current weather temperatures are reported by the UVIC School-based weather station located at James Bay elementary school on Oswego Street.

Just after I had just commented on Debbie Summers Post on "What's on Your Realtor Christmas List" ........We Watched This Speech Recognition for Bloggers Video by Jon Morrow at ProBlogger

You guessed it .....this sounds a whole lot easier than I thought.

After I watched the Video....What really Got My Attention is we speak normally at 120 words a minute and blog around 40 Words Per Minute. That Exciting, just think of the time we can save talking to our computer or blogging posts here...

Check out this Video and tell me your thoughts on using Speech Recognition Software thereby allowing us to Blog on AR faster and easier..oh course we'll still need to do some layout and add graphic Art.

Their choices, in the midst of and through the outcome of those circumstances, make that decision.

5. Work Like Ants

That’s right, ants. Ants keep going. They never give up no matter how tired they are, how much work is left, and how dull the outcome appears. They recognize that a life worth living takes hard work and time. It takes time, grain by grain, to build a life. And, even after success is reached, they keep on working. And even after a little boy destroys the ant hill they worked so hard to create, they start all over again. Successful people are like ants.

My Own Success Story

I have had great success with my online printing business beyond my imagination. First I knew I had a choice to make. Either work hard for my own success, or work hard to make someone else successful. This was an easy choice for me, I knew that nobody else was going to do it for me, I had to do it for myself.

In my early twenties while building my online presence, I would spend the evenings working instead of hanging out with friends. My wife would wind up entertaining because I was in the back bedroom at my desk neck deep in HTML & CSS code. I can't tell you how many times I've been asked to play golf and I say "no" because I have work to do. My friends came to accept that I was a busy guy, but little did they know what I had brewing.

What started with a simple saying "If he can do that, so can I" turned into over 2 million dollars in sales, featured in two published books, a major magazine, a major newspaper and consultant to a major corporation.

Desire, Drive, Perseverance & Sacrifice is the recipie for success.

Annual Christmas Lighted Truck Parade in Victoria BC on December 5th

Thousands of Victoria BC residents will come again to watch the Annual Christmas Lighted Truck Parade and Food Drive on December 5, 2009.

People are asked to bring a donation of food for the local food banks.

The Christmas Lighted Truck Parade Parade Starts at 5:45 PM at Victoria's Ogden Point Cruise Ship Terminal on Dallas road and then weaves throughout Victoria to finally end up at the Western Speedway Race Track around 8:15 PM. Christmas Lighted Truck Parade Route Map

The Parade of Big trucks put on by The Vancouver Island Equipment Owners takes about two hours to complete, a full ten minutes to watch them all drive by.

The Annual Lighted Truck Parade in Victoria is very Popular with all Victorians, last year we joined in and helped with Coffee, Hot Chocolate and Christmas cookies at Jane's ex-employer at Sands Colwood Office, the local Colwood Fire Department pickup the food donations and the motorcycle police throughout the city handled the traffic control so the trucks could travel without interruption.

Immediately after the Lighted Trucks Leave Ogden Point-the Annual Christmas Lighted Ship Parade.

As 2009 draws to a close....... I thought I would review the Real Estate activities of Victoria's Municipality of Oak Bay, an area know by the locals as South Oak Bay, an area bordered by Oak Bay Ave to the North, Beach Drive to the East and South and Foul Bay Road to the West.

Single Family Sales since January in South Oak Bay Total 88 with an 2009 year to date Average Selling Price of $852,391 with an average of 59 days on the market.

Single Family Pending Sales Total 10 with an average selling price of $ 873,700 with an average of 78 days on the market.

It would appear South Oak Bay Single Family Real Estate sale prices are up slightly, however the days on the market have increased.

Currently there are 31 Single Family South Oak Bay Homes For Sale with an Average asking price of $ 1,499, 846 ranging in price from $499,900 for a home on Mitchel Street and up to $12 Million for a home on Beach Drive.

I recently drove through South Oak Bay on Oliver Street and took a Video of the homes to give you an idea of the Quaintness and Character of South Oak Bay Real Estate.

History of Oak Bay, Oak Bay was once part of the Hudson Bay Trading Company's Pacific Northwest Holdings and 1st settled by the Songhees First Nation.

VICTORIA CHRISTMAS SHOPPING-AT THE BAY CENTER

This Morning I went to Victoria's Premier Bay Shopping Center to catch their Christmas Decor before many of the Victoria Saturday Christmas Shoppers Arrived.

I took several photos and a video of the inside, so you can see Victoria's Premier Shopping Mall-The Bay Center.

Do you Still need to do some Christmas Shopping, be sure to Check out the Bay Center in Victoria BC.

It takes up a large City Block(originally two city blocks) and it has has a mix of over 90 street front and interior shops, Built In 1990 replacing an old T.Eatons Store on 2 city blocks.
