All home buyers to benefit from the first time home buyer tax credit - extension coming

It's coming, all home buyers to benefit from the "First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit" (FTHBTC) as it passed the senate on Monday. The credit will be extend for first time home buyers until April 2010, and also any move-up buyers (non-first time buyer) will receive a $6,500 tax credit as well.

The income limits are expected to be raised $125,000 single and $225,000 couples.

Sales are up 6.1% nationally, and 10.2% in the West per NAR, National Association of Realtors.

If you're in the market to buy as a first time home buyer, or a move up buyer. It's important to have representation so that you get the best and most out of your home purchase.

Seattle Sounder fans show the power of the soccer wave at Qwest field when FC Barcelona came to play for a friendly match. The highest attendance set for a single game at Qwest field was on August 05, 2009, as 66,830 raging fans came to cheer for the Seattle Sounders.

FC Barcelona came to Qwest field to take on the Seattle Sounders in a friendly soccer match in August. FC Barcelona, more known as Barca is seen as a power house soccer team all over the world. They have so much talent that most of the best players in the world play for this club. i.e. The New York Yankees vs. a high school team, hello!!!

We saw this little boy sitting on a chair and asked if we could get our picture taken with him. He's a Seattle Sounders fan for sure!

I had a chance to go to the game with some friends over the summer. When we arrived it was mayhem with fans pouring out of every street and local business as the game was about to start in 20 minutes. We started by walking around Qwest field to get the full experience of soccer fever.

Then, made our way to the entrance where we heard a band playing and chanting songs. As the music was playing a massive wave of green and blue fans made their way to the stadium and continued the chanting into Qwest field.

When we got into Qwest field, we were amazed at how many fans showed up. The game set a new record for attendance at Qwest field 66,830 crazy, raging fans yelling and screaming for the Seattle Sounders.

Yet, at the end of the game FC Barcelona won 4-0. It was a show that I will never forget and will share it with my children someday.

Packed soccer stadium with thousands in attendance. They had confetti, and fireworks go off at the game.

Here are some game highlights that I took. Take a look at how fast, precise and confident the FC Barcelona players are in comparison to the Seattle Sounder players. I'm a Sounders fan, but also a BIG FC-Barcelona fan too.

Also, you can see tens of thousands of fans doing the wave... it's so awesome.

I had a great time at the game and look forward to the Seattle Sounders first ever playoff appearance at Qwest field on October 29, 2009 vs. Huston Dynamo.

Pumpkin patch and u-pick farms in the Seattle / King county areas are becoming more popular as we get closer to Halloween. Many go to pick the perfect pumpkin, while others go to enjoy the corn maze, or take the kids to the petting zoo. Whatever your taste is, here are all the local pumpkin patch/farms in the Seattle, King and Snohomish area.

Yesterday I told my wife, "It's getting close to Halloween and its time to go to the pumpkin patch with the kids?" We packed the car, the kids, and snacks then made our way out to Carnation as that's where our number one pumpkin patch farm is located; Remlinger Farms.

When we arrived we could see a row of cars lined up and families getting out running to the entrance. That got our kids pumped and excited as they too shouted with excitement.

We got out, made our way towards the entrance thru puddles of water to get to the pumpkin patch. WOW! There were so many people out enjoying the weather, corn mazes, hot cider, and the hay rides. We had such a great time take a look at the pictures below.

Google campus coming to Kirkland October 28, 2009

Google is officially opening its Kirkland doors on October 28, 2009. Google has been renting prime real estate near Park Place in Kirkland were it employs 400 people.

There are three buildings on the Google campus and have roughly 180,000 sqft and room for 640 +/- cars. The campus is located on 747 sixth street south, Kirkland WA 98033. Just walking distance to some of my favorite restaurants, businesses and where my family and I take walks.

Here are a few of my favorite spots:

3. PCC

Google first started hiring in 2004 here locally in Kirkland. Google has been hiring local tech engineers that used to work for local major companies. Currently there are two campuses, one in Fremont with 240 employees and now the Kirkland campus that opens late October.

Can you see the "Caution" tape? It's been vacant for almost a year, yet has always been maintained.

Come see the grand opening as local politicians, businesses and media will be attending the official ceremonial opening.

Bellevue Golf Course - Golfing with Kelly a UC Berkeley Golf Grad

Have you ever been to the Bellevue Golf Course? The locals call it "Bellevue Muni" as its short for municipal. I have been playing this course since high school. Its located across the street from the Microsoft campus off 148^th Ave NE.

Anyways, I had my wife's uncle come up from Pleasanton, California visiting us over the weekend and he wanted me to take him out golfing... so I took him to Bellevue Muni. The weather was perfect not too hot like it is today (+100') and not too windy, just the right weather.

We got partnered up with two other guys and we started to head down to the first tee. As I was warming up to the golf staff member checking us in on the first green (Mr. Yamaguchi). He looked familiar to me and sure enough I knew who he was as I had gone to school with his son Jon.

The course greens were tough and it took me a while to get my swing since I haven't played in eight months. Overall I didn't play well. I shot a 116 while Kelly shot 98. I need more practice as my family has a tournement coming up in September.

Its a great course and by far my favorite to play on. Have fun this summer.

Downtown Kirkland sunsets with The Olympic Mtns in the background in spring

Downtown Kirkland, the Kirkland Marina and local community parks in Kirkland provide memorable sunsets. Have you experienced just how exceptional it is seeing the sun go down behind the Olympic Mtns or Seattle from Kirkland or even the Eastside?

I have... these are shots that I took from my patio deck. It faces West and you can see Bellevue, Seattle (in the background), and DT Kirkland.

I want to share my town, Kirkland with you and provide a glimpse of how amazing the sunsets are in the spring. Summer is almost here, so expect more pictures of gorgeous sunsets and breathe taking silhouettes.

The Kirkland Marina Park - shopping, food, and boating.

Welcome to the Kirkland Marina, my favorite park in Kirkland. The marina has many attributes and activities that I enjoy. Great restaurants, shopping boutiques, ice cream shops, and the large park that sits right on the edge of Lake Washington. It's by far one of the most active always something happening parks. If you like boating, this is the place to do it, I mean the cost is inexpensive and you have easy access to Seattle by crossing Lake Washington.

Here are some of my favorite restaurants in downtown Kirkland...

Marina Park Grill - great seafood (view of lake)
Calabria - awesome Italian food (authentic Italia)
Hectors - best breakfast spot (big portions, low costs)
Ben & Jerry's ice cream - ice cream (children love it)
Cactus - Mexican food (fresh, fresh, fresh)
St. James Espresso - coffee shop (free wifi)
Cefiore - yogurt / smoothies (nothing like it)
The slip - burgers & fries (entertaining)

Kirkland Marina Dock

Kirkland Moments:

I was eating at the Kirkland Slip with some friends a while back and as we were enjoying the 80' degree weather and trying catch up on old times.

I noticed a tall slender man walking off his boat and onto the dock with his wife and children. As the couple came closer and closer, I couldn't believe who it was. "Is it really him, could it be him, no way that's him, here in downtown Kirkland, out in the open", I said to myself as my friends were talking. Next thing you know, its Bill & Melinda Gates walking up to "The Slip". I discreetly leaned close to my friends, and whispered, "hey don't turn around but Bill Gates is coming this way". Of course, my friends turn at the same time and were just beside themselves.

They too could not believe it was really him, much less in the open and casual. I said to my friends, "they are normal people just like us but with much ($$$$$) more money".

So, they came in and sat right behind me at another table. To this day, every time I talk about or go to the "The Slip" I tell the story of when I had "lunch" with Bill & Melinda Gates. I mean I didn't, but I sort of did, right?
