I do not mean to go off on a rant but, I must wonder what does it say about our society, when we have a problem with a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient flying the United States Flag on his property, because of estetics no less, the same flag that thousand have die to deffend and the same flag that one day will surely drape his coffin, today it seem that we are infatuated with sports stars, movie stars, we are star struck and give more credence to someone in a reality show than a true to life Hero.

This man one day will receive the salute of a grateful Nation when he is laid to rest with full military honors, why not salute him now that he still alive by honoring his right to fly our flag, after all he put his life on the line for it, that is much more than many people are willing to do today.

Talk about the ultimate betrayal.

A special Veterans Day service

This one was a little more meaningful to me than the others because my Step Dad Retired MSG William J.(Jim, Pappaw) Starner was among 162 York County Veterans to have their names engraved on the newest Memorial at Prospect Hill Cemetery. It is called the Court of Valor and certain requirements needed to be met to be included. He was added for 2 Bronze Stars in Vietnam.

Here he is being interviewed by a local TV station, WPMT Fox 43. They would have to do a 30 minute documentary to hear all of what he said!!

At the top you can see a piece from the World Trade Center. Everyone was amazed that the final measurement of the 10 Feet section actually was 9'11"!

Nothing particularly grand in the Tea Party in Mission Viejo. We didn't have 10s of 1000s of people and celebrities. But we did have our citizens...moms and dads and children and teens and grandparents and homeowners and store owners. While Ted Nugent was at the Alamo, we did get our local "Diamond Tom" who sang combinations of patriotic songs and Jimmy Buffet....what? :)

This tea is from the same company who provided the tea to those early Patriots which ended up in the Harbor. The company is still in business today.

This one lonely guy.....trying to tell us to "Pay our Share". I overheard him telling a woman that no one should be allowed to make more than $100,000/year until everyone can pay their bills and feed their children. Ok....so I asked him if he was willing to do all it takes to get a real estate license so that once we have all sold enough homes this year to hit $100,000 he could sell the next home?

"What"? was the response.

I asked him what he did for a living. He's a plumber and having a tough time since construction isn't happening very much. I told him I was sorry he was having a tough time, but in this economy perhaps he should only handle one job a month until everyone was fed.

"That's not the same thing"

I think it is....until all plumbers can feed their families....you should not take more jobs than you absolutely need to feed yours.

I did take his card....I'm happy to have another plumber to use. I also told him that I do pay my taxes, and apparently I pay his too.

Well, I finally finished our taxes right when it was time to hop in our car and head downtown to the Palm Beach County courthouse plaza for our local area National Tea Party peaceful demonstration.

Our 'Don't Tread On Me' Tshirts arrived on Tuesday and we proudly wore them on April 15th!

There were over 1000 people at our event. It even started raining about an hour into the event but that did not stop anyone from expressing their patriotic voices for liberty and against more taxes. There were over 16,000 people at the Alamo in Texas rally and near 20,000 in Atlanta's rally.

There were Democrats, Republicans, Independants, Libertarians and non party affiliated people participating and voicing their love for our Constitution and our founding fathers.

There was even some new party forming called 'The Constitution Party'. I did not have the time to really find out what they were all about.

I took a lot of photos. When I went to take video with my flip video camera it was already full. Then I started to video tape with my Sony Handycam which is what I use now for still shots and the DVD disc was full! So much for being prepared! So then Nestor reminded me that I could just use ResPres's Real Estate Shows and put our video together from the still shots I was taking. Thank you Nestor, that made me feel a lot better!

It was interesting to see all the different signs and what people believed in. There were no nut cases in our crowd. There was no littering, no foul language and no violence. Just a peaceful protest and exersising our right of free speech.

It was so refreshing to see so many young people out. We had a high school speaker, a young economics college student speaker and parents brought their children with them. We brought our son. He wanted to go because he says he wants to save his money. It was so cute to watch him get all excited shouting, "USA, USA, USA!"

When we said the Pledge of Allegience our son at 6 years old proudly places his hand over his heart and knows how to recite the entire Pledge of Allegience without help. Of course, in home school we say the Pledge of Allegience every morning after morning prayers. The crowd burst into song with our nation's national anthem. We had speakers from both parties who are against the runaway spending, taxes and irresponsible government officials who no longer listen to the voice of the people.

People can call us fools, can call us extremists, nut cases; all the name calling in the world is not going to stop us any longer from speaking with our voices and peacefully protesting. I felt good to be there. I felt like I finally was at a rally I truly believed in. It was like coming full circle from the radical protests my mother used to bring me to in the 60's!

Now that the National Tea Party is over, our work has just begun. Today is the day to fax and call your Senators and Representatives. Do not email them. I found out that they are getting so many emails they can not even read them all anymore. So write letters, fax letters and make phone calls. Tell them to vote no on the budget. Tell them to repeal the tax hikes, tell them to stop the bail outs. Tell them to set term limits and stop giving themselves and their staff bonuses and raises.

It seems the tea parties held this week are driving the left nuts. They just don’t know what to make of ordinary people taking time out of their day to register their disdain with politics as usual.

This was not about Republicans vs Democrats. What is misunderstood is there is a growing disgust for both parties.

Things must change all right. The change we need is to return to adhering to the Constitution.

Just imagine your 14 year old sitting in front of the TV when this immoral "cartoon"-- which looks innocent enough-- is allowed into your home courtesy of FOX TV and PEPSI.

Please take some action. You don't need to watch the whole video. The first few seconds was enough for me!

Kids have it tough enough these days don't they? All you need to do today is sign the petitions. File the complaint with the FCC. Do these, at least. Also make a contribution to AFA, if the Lord leads you to do so.

File an official complaint with the FCC against the FOX network and your local FOX affiliate station.

On March 8, Fox network aired Family Guy, a perverted and sickening program, into the homes of millions of Americans. This episode was rated TV-14 DLSV by FOX, meaning that in the network's opinion it was appropriate for 14-year olds. It aired during prime-time.

The content of this program was so explicit that I can't even begin to describe it here.

Even more offensive is Fox's view of Christianity. At a "straight" meeting, the speaker talks to gays about Jesus and tells them, "He [Jesus] hates many people, but none more than homosexuals." Incidentally, Pepsico helped sponsor this program (BoycottPepsico.com.

You really cannot get the full effect of the show's portrayal of Christianity without watching the video or reading our review. You will hear the tone and sarcasm very clearly.

The FCC has a duty to enforce the law and fine Fox for this sickening violation of broadcast decency standards. In addition, your local FOX network affiliate did not have to air this episode. Obviously, they do not care about your local community standards.

Take Action!

File an official complaint with the FCC against the Fox network and your local FOX affiliate station. It will only take a couple of minutes. Do it for your children and grandchildren.

Attention Home Buyers--Important Information!

As a potential home buyer you may know a Real Estate professional or you might not. I want to take a few minutes and talk to those who have some kind of relationship with a local real estate pro. Whether it is someone you used in the past or maybe someone a friend or family member used and told you about them, they want to help.

If you know someone or know of someone, call them when you want to see something. Many times I hear from clients that say they went to see a house and that they did not want to bother me just to go and look.

That is my JOB! That is part of the process. You don't know what a house is like unless you go and see it!

So, call your agent and tell them what you are thinking. If they say they do not want to help you, then by all means, call someone else!! But, give them a chance to meet you and spend more time with you, even if you are just being a little nosy.

I love to spend as much time as I can with clients. My clients become friends and when they settle on their transaction and we don't see each other as much, it just doesn't seem right.

So, next time you drive by that house that peaks your interest and you haven't even been thinking of selling and/or buying but you want to look at it anyway...CALL YOUR AGENT!

Get In Line After The Auto Makers For Your Bailout!

I can not believe where we seem to be heading in this country financially!

Pelosi is right there in the front of it again. She is URGING the Bush administration to consider things. She wants congress to support ANOTHER financial bail out, this time for the auto industry.

She says, "In order to prevent the failure of one or more of the major American automobile manufacturers ... Congress and the Bush administration must take immediate action,"

The Bush administration is thinking that the auto industry was not included in the last bailout.

"We're in a situation where there's a great unknown about what will happen," said Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich. "And a great concern that at least one of the companies will find themselves in a situation where they cannot make it until January 20," Oh, and what is that supposed to mean? I guess the new President Obama is going to take care of it!

It is reported that the executives of Ford, GM and Chrysler LLC want an immediate $25 Billion to keep them out of more trouble and another $25 Billion to help with future health care obligations. Are you kidding me???

My sales are down from last year. Does anyone care?? Did I adjust? Yes! Was I living on more than I made? No! Was I responsible? YES!

These companies have been living large for way too long. Did they plan for this as a possible future situation? I guess not! Did they save for a bad time in their business? I guess not!

$50 Billion to make it all better??????

Assembly To Honor Veterans in York, PA!

I just read in our local Community Courier that there will be an assembly to honor veterans.

It will take place at the Christian School of York at 907 Greenbriar Rd. in York. This is the 2nd annual veterans assembly to be held there.

It will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 11th to honor veterans and active duty military personnel.

All veterans and their families, active duty and their families and families of those lost in Iraq are invited to attend. It does not say anything about Afghanistan or any other conflicts but I say if you are a veteran of any time or family member, I would call and go.

Any community members that would like to honor our veterans are also invited!

Veterans and military personnel will be honored in song, drama and other presentations by the school's students.

The school would like all guests to contact Jayne Warner at 767-6842, Ext. 342 or jwarner @ csyonline.com in advance to inform her of your intent to attend.

The Latest Hersey Poll Numbers Are Out! McCain Way Ahead!

With all this talk about polls all the time, it got me thinking. I have been of voting age since 1989 and I have NEVER been asked who I was planning on voting for and why from any poll company out there.

So, I decided to do my own poll and the results follow...

McCain - 83.33%

Obama - 16.67%

There were a total of 24 people asked who they were going to vote for.

The way I see it, these polls we always hear about do nothing more than make people second guess themselves and make them think that maybe their vote won't matter anyway. Some won't go vote because they THINK they already know the outcome. We all know it is not over until it is over!

Come on people! Get out there and vote without caring what these polls are telling you. Make your vote be counted. See you Nov. 4th at the polls!

Current York County Market Report For September 2008

The number of homes sold for September of '08 compared to September of '07 were lower but the median sale price was about the same.

Number of residential homes sold in 2007 - 427
Number of residential homes sold in 2008 - 302

Total dollar amount sold in Sept. of 2007 - $80,305,852
Total dollar amount sold in Sept. of 2008 - $54,062,011

Median sale price for Sept. of 2007 - $165,000
Median sale price for Sept. of 2008 - $164,450

Median days on the market for Sept. 2007 - 33
Median days on the market for Sept. 2008 - 55

So it shows what most people already see. Less homes are selling but they are not losing value as much as other areas of the country. There are more listings to chose from, bringing prices down and making the median DOM go up.

I know things don't look good, but please don't panic. Everything runs in cycles. Economies, weather patterns and on and on. We have seen better days and we have seen worse.

I believe the worst thing people can do in situations such as our newest financial mess is to panic and start pulling money out of their accounts. That will only make matters worse!

Believe it or not, it is still a good time to buy. Rates are low and there are tons of homes on the market! Just be smart with your money! Don't take the word of anyone that might tell you if you are approved for a mortgage or not without asking around. Get other opinions! Ask me or any other agent who we would recommend. We like to work with people who we trust and who have come through for us in the past. You might not really have a long lasting relationship with a mortgage lender, but we do. Our business depends on it!

So, be smart with your money and your credit. Credit remains VERY important!
