Home Insurance in Florida, Are we really in good hands? What do you think?

You want to have a good laugh

I tell you that I haven't laugh this hard since one of our presidents addressed an Iranian president as a "'loony tooni toilet seat leaking maggot" Enjoy.

As you may or may not know the Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty a few weeks ago suspended Allstate companies from writing new automobile insurance policies in Florida for refusing to comply fully with a subpoena from the state.

McCarty abruptly ended a scheduled two-day meeting Tuesday after just two hours. He was angered that Allstate officials failed to turn over some information the state requested on property coverage rates. Company officials had described the state's request as "irrelevant."

Yesterday speaking to a Florida Senate select committee Monday, the head of Allstate Floridian defended its request for insurance increases by pointing to the impact from hurricanes over the past few years.

But Sen. Bill Posey, R-Rockledge, said he hasn't "seen so much bobbing and weaving since Muhammad Ali did the rope-a-dope."

I just find it hilariously funny. Here is the whole article.

http://www.floridarealtors.org/NewsAndEvents/n2-020508.cfm

Jorge Nunez, Realtor

Jacksonville, Florida

http://www.housesapartmentsandcondos.com/

Puerto Vallarta Jalisco, Mexico a paradise you can call home

When the Pelgrims arrived in Cape Cod my family was already here in Florida and I love Florida. One must understand that the oldest city in the United States of America is San Agustine in Florida and that five flags have flown over the city since 1565. Today I'm glad my parents did not focus only on the negatives of 1565.

Focus only on the negative, and you will never experience the beautiful colonial architecture, diverse natural wonders, endless beaches, and fantastic weather that Puerto Vallarta can offer. When I am there sharing it with 2.1 million foreign tourists who spend about $11.6 billion every year I feel at home.

The new homes for sale in Puerto Vallarta are in places of contrasts framed by the towering mountains, exuberant vegetation, relaxing beaches, sparkling sunshine, rivers and the brilliant clear blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. The region surrounding the Bahia de Banderas, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in all Mexico and the second largest natural bay in North America, it is a haven for anyone who enjoys any type of beach activity and with sunshine 320 days a year.

Puerto Vallarta is a popular tourist destination that retains the traditional Mexican pueblo flavor, while providing modern infrastructure, conveniences, entertainment, and lodging facilities it is also provides a great real estate investment oportunity.
Homes For Sale In Nuevo Vallarta Mexico

I have recently returned from a visit to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It is located by the Mexican Bay of Bandera's. As colleagues and friends asked me about my trip, I thought it would be a good idea to write a blog on it. My trip started on December 12 from Jacksonville, FL, via Houston, TX, and, what was suppose to be a six hour trip turned into sixteen. It began at Jacksonville when the departure time was delayed eight hours while we waited for the flight crew to arrive from their lawful resting period. Due to weather in the North, they didn't arrive until late the night before and had to complete a mandatory rest period of eight hours. The flight was a bit uncomfortable because the seats on my Scion XB are wider than the ones on the plane.....I'm sure everyone whose flown before knows what I mean. I promised myself, after that flight, to lose some pounds for my next trip. Besides the seating "squeeze", the flight was short and swift. Of course, the delay made me miss my connecting flight in Houston so, once there, I had to wait another six hours before my flight finally departed for sunny Puerto Vallarta.

Puerto Vallarta is no Paris. It is, however, a growing city where modern buildings and new subdivisions are crushing away the obsolete eye sores. With lots of fun and real, open people, this city's real estate market reminds me of the 1993 Costa Rican real estate market. Not to forget that in five days I spent 105.00 bucks and I lived like a king. There, a Cola is .50 cents and a case of fresh oranges is three bucks. I can go on and on about how inexpensive it is but, bottom line, I loved it!

What was I doing there you may asked? Well, I went there to do a listing presentation to one of the builders currently engaged on a 4,100 unit project. Not bad hey? Yes, it went well for all of us and soon you may see the fruits of our work....maybe. Fact is, that I fought my pessimism for over ten days before deciding to go there. Contrary to my inner misgivings and advice from friends and colleagues, I decided to take the plunge and go anyway.

The builder's real estate professionals welcomed me at the airport and that felt really good. Next morning we had breakfast and engaged in business discussions shortly thereafter. We drove to meet with the builder and their marketing professional in Nuevo Vallarta, toured the condos, the townhomes, the villas and the new shopping center. Believe me when I tell you that you can't put a hole in the walls by accident or on purpose. The construction is armed concrete and concrete block. Only Mother Nature can take one of these properties down. We broke for a two hour lunch, in which I digested all the information I had been provided. Watch it, two hour lunches are very easy to get used to.

After lunch we departed and went to meet the title company, a great bunch of professionals, most of them tri-lingual. The next day we met with the lenders and I did my presentation. Yes, I took everything that was on the table. When the day ended, I had no doubts or fears about selling real estate in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

I tell you that the best and only way to sell real estate in Mexico is to have a strong and reliable team that has a presence in Mexico, United States, and Canada. A team like the one I met there...a true base of a pyramid.

Jorge Nunez

Homes For Sale In Nuevo Vallarta

Jacksonville, Florida Real Estate, (Foreclosure Scams)

Hello people, it is great news indeed, the interest rates got trimmed, home prices are at a record low, and it is a great time to buy real estate but, let us not loose focus. Believe it or not, a home sold for $30,000 one day...and for $225,000 the next day. Extreme flipping? No, a flagrant case of mortgage fraud, where the property was illegally "flipped", bought, and after been falsely appraised at a much higher price, quickly sold.

If you're buying property, re-financing a mortgage, or looking for creative ways to eliminate home loans and other debts, now that the time is right, you could be targeted, as well. Please hire a professional, ask and check the credentials. Call or Write me.

Not to long ago the FBI joined with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Internal Revenue Service, and the Department of Justice in "Operation Quick Flip."

Please go to their web site and read about what has become one of the fastest growing white collar crimes in the nation.

Don't get flipped.

Jorge Nunez

http://www.housesapartmentsandcondos.com/

South Korean shipping line to build a $360 million terminal in Jacksonville Florida

A few weeks ago I wrote a simple blog and in it I shared that it was the right time to spend money on a home of your own here in Jacksonville, Florida. Now, I would like to share greater news with you. The Jacksonville Port Authority (JPA) reached an agreement with a South Korean shipping line to build a $360 million terminal here. JPA officials and Mayor John Peyton signed the deal with Hanjin Shipping Co. Ltd. in South Korea. Hanjin Shipping Co. Ltd. is the second major Asian shipping line to choose Jacksonville for a new terminal.

The terminal will be the fifth at Jaxport and no one will be surprised to see others follow these leaders in the coming years. The terminal should begin operations in 2011 creating thousands of jobs in Northeast Florida and a strong economic impact.

If you have been waiting for the right time to buy a home, the time is now. Right now interest rates are still at historic lows with plenty of state down payment assistance programs, conventional financing and FHA-insured mortgages available for you to make it happen. The more you learn about Jacksonville real estate opportunities the more you will realize you should not postpone for much longer.

Jorge Nuñez Realtor®

http://www.housesapartmentsandcondos.com/

Homes for Sale in Puerto Vallarta Mexico
