Running Commentary at Recent Trade-show

Linda says to Billy . . .

. . . you know the type, she doesn't go by "Beth" or "Liz", but by ELIZABETH. She wakes up in the morning and puts on her sensible shoes and her cotton underwear and drives her Subaru to the trade-show.

She gets a bag from one of the vendors and stops at each of the booths collecting her freebies and every document of solicitation they offer - she's polite to everyone, asking questions while pushing her eyeglasses off her nose by the bridge. She brings just enough business cards to gently place into all of the raffle baskets. She sits alone at the free lunch.

Tonight she'll go home to her two bedroom condo, fix herself a T.V. Dinner and grab an ice cold diet coke out of the fridge, even though she's 50 lbs. overweight. She'll climb onto her couch, switch on the T.V. which goes immediately to E! Entertainment Television, her cat will jump up next to her and curl itself inside her folded legs.

She'll sort through each and every piece of material she has collected making a "keep" pile and a "discard" pile, keeping everything in neat little stacks and reading through everything in the "keep" pile.

Then after the evening news she'lll go off quietly to bed, by herself, until tomorrow . . . You know the type.

Billy says -

She's wearing a wedding ring . . . she's not that type at all.

Tradeshows - The aftermath

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do after the Tradeshow? I've tried calling everyone who put a card in our "giveaway" basket, at the next tradeshow, I tried e-mailing to everyone I received a card from and then following up with a phone call. Are Tradeshows even worth it? I get one on one time with prospective clients, and they seem interested at the time of the Tradeshow and tell me to send them all the information I have (which I diligently do, the next day) and then when I try to follow up with them, they never return my calls. I have the "Lost Cause - Three Tries and Your Out Rule". I try to contact them three times and then if they don't call back, I list them as "Lost Cause" in my ACT software. No use spending time on people who won't even let you know that they actually AREN'T interested in my services. Anyway, I'm off topic here . . . any suggestions on effective follow-up after the Tradeshow????

Thanks!

Getting information on the internet highway

Is there any company or agency that lists the top residential transactional companies (i.e. title companies/attorneys/closing/escrow companies) that anyone knows of? Is there a listing that can be obtained of the Top 20 in each state? Is there a listing on the practices of each state as to who does the closing transaction? It gets so confusing trying to figure out if it's a title state, attorney state, etc..... Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks!
