It's snowing, big fluffy white flakes that stick to your eyelashes, and make you remember the beauty of the northern ski country we live in here. We are anticipating a great ski season! Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands are gearing up for thousands of skiiers, between now and the New Year. Well, if you missed this weekend, you will most likely have to wait until next fall to see these colors here again in Northern Michigan. I have enjoyed sharing the colors with you immensely and the response has been great. There are many Realtors throughout this great country who grew up in the northern states, and can appreciate the overwhelming feelings that are experienced by a simple Sunday drive through the countryside in the fall.

Although Michigan is often called the (Wolverine State) there are no longer any wolverines in Michigan.

The University of Michigan was the first university established by any of the states. Originally named Cathelepistemian and located in Detroit, the name was changed in 1821. The university moved to Ann Arbor in 1841. Corn in Michigan Field

The Mackinac Bridge is one of the longest suspention bridges in the world. Connecting the Upper Peninsula with the Lower Peninsula, it spans 5 miles over the Straits of Mackinac, which is where Lake Michigan and Lake Huron meet.

Michigan has more than 11,000 inland lakes and more than 36,000 miles of streams. Michigan has 116 lighthouses and navigational lights. seul Choix Point Lighthouse in Gulliver has been guiding ships since 1895. this working light also functions as a museum, which houses early 1900's furnishings and maritime artifacts.

The newest virus circulating is the 'UPS Delivery Failure'. You will
receive an email from UPS Packet Service along with a packet number.
It will say that they were un-able to deliver a package sent to you on

such and such a date. It then asks you to print out the invoice copy

attached. DON'T TRY TO PRINT THIS.

IT LAUNCHES THE VIRUS!

Pass this warning on to all your PC operators at work and home.

This virus has caused Millions of dollars in damage in the past few days.

New Gift Certificate Law in Mich. (for your closing Gifts)

New Gift Certificate law signed - EFFECTIVE September 30 - Legislation was recently signed that prohibits retailers from refusing to honor the terms or the use of a gift certificate during a sale. It would also create a lifespan for a gift certificate of at least five years. The bills are House Bills 4050, 4317, 4680 and Senate Bill 388. The new law is effective September 30, 2008.

The package prohibits a retail establishment from:

Refusing to accept a gift certificate, except after an expiration date that was at least five years after the purchase date.
Altering terms or conditions of a gift certificate after it was issued.
Failing to disclose the terms and conditions of a gift certificate or card, or failing to disclose that terms and conditions applied.
Refusing to accept a gift certificate and apply it to a purchase if its value were less than the purchase price.
From charging an inactivity fee or other service fee for the possession or use of a gift certificate.
