Run to Feed the Hungry- Sacramento, CA

I recently completed my first 5K running race on Thanksgiving Day in Sacramento, CA. It's somewhat of a family tradition for us since my dad and husband run it almost every year. Not being competitive athletically, I was thrilled to finish the race. I later found that my time was 26:00.3 which put me in 6th place for my age division. That was a pleasant surprise because I felt like I was going to die at the finish line, but made it thanks to my dad encouraging me to keep going. We crossed the finish together. If anyone has done the Run to Feed the Hungry, you know it's a HUGE event. It's a lot of fun and the proceeds go to a great cause, The Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services. Next time, I hope to finish in under 8 minute miles so I've got my work cut out for me. See you there next year!
