I have a question about posting to CL so my first reaction was to visit this group. I have not been to the group in awhile and upon my arrival I was very disappointed. As you can note from the description to the left, Max Douge had hoped it to be a resource for tips, recommendations and interesting insights. On the flip side a place where others can come to learn about posting and/or using CL for their business.

The first two pages of post had NOTHING to do with using CL. What has happened? I enjoyed reading the posts about marketing ideas, etc. but my goal was to find out some info about CL and how to better postion my listings on CL.

Enough about my rants.....HERE IS MY QUESTION:

I have a few codes that you can use in the title section that will display a symbol on CL. When I preview the post and in my account displaying my post, I can see the HTML symbol. However, when I go to the section with all the post, I do not see the symbol but instead the actually code? I have tried cut and past, retype, space, no space. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? In the past I have gotten it to work with editing and reediting.

Any suggestions, tips, advice or troubleshooting will be great!

As the colorful azaleas and dogwoods bloom and display a scenic backdrop for the city of Eufaula, it is time for Alabama's Oldest Tour of Homes - The Eufaula Pilgrimage. Experience Southern hospitality, charm and beautiful blooming spring flowers during the 42nd annual Eufaula Pilgrimage and Antique show - April 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2009.

Homes listed on the National Register of Historic Places will be opened to intrigued visitors during this festive time returning to the Old South Days. Victorian mansions built by 19th century plantations owners and merchants, housing family heirlooms of the forgotten era will be open to the general public for tours. Most of the homes are located in the Seth Lore-Irwinton Historic District.

Visitors are greeted by Southern Belles in the hoops and bustles as they the grace the beautifully gardens and verandas. Reliving history is felt throughout the city of Eufaula. Citizens are proud of the history of their town and everyone comes out to volunteer for the Eufaula Pilgrimage. Tales of the Tomb - a real life enactment of Eufaula History. Active Rain Network - the friendships, the experience, the knowledge. After joining the Active Rain community a year ago, I discovered so much that I really did not know. I logged in countless hours reading posts after posts. I learned so much about SEO, Internet marketing, Real Estate tips and advice and learned how to take control of my market area.

One of my first Active Rain Associatea - JO SOSS of Bremerton, WA (Puget Sound Kitsap). I joined Military Spouse Referral Network to meet other Miltary Spouses selling Real Estate. Jo was very friendly and willing to share the ins and outs of Active Rain. I subscribed to her blog and enjoyed reading her Localism posts about Bremerton, Silverdale, Port Orchard and the surrounding Kitsap County area. In addition to all of her valuable information for Navy Military Service Members relocating to the PSNS / Bangor / Keyport areas, Jo Soss also writes for the home buyers and home sellers in the Naval Shipyard community of Bremerton and Port Orchard. During my visit home to Port Orchard, WA this past holiday season, I had the pleasure of meeting with Jo. Jo has been assisting my sister with buying a home in the South Kitsap area. Interesting morning at Fort Rucker Alabama

Waking up to a slightly unusual ray of light beaming through the windows

I stepped outside with my morning cup of coffee and the family dog at my side

Things looked different : no blue skies, no beaming rays of the morning sunrise

The world as I saw it was pinkish/orange

I was not sure if the pictures would turn out as I saw things

But once I uploaded them - they turned out to be very similar

The spouses and high school senior dependents of Active Duty Military Service Members stationed at Fort Rucker Alabama are able to apply for the Our Family for Families First Scholarship - Our Future Scholarship.

Applications for the 2009 Our Future Scholarships are available on the Our Family for Families First Website - http://www.ourfamilyforfamiliesfirst.org/.

Applications for the Our Future Scholarships are due by 2/27/09. Applications and all necessary paperwork for the Our Future Scholarship must be complete and postmarked by the due date in order to be considered. Awards for the scholarships are for use beginning in the fall of 2009. Recipients of a scholarship will be notified March 27, 2009.

Our Family for Families First strives to support the educational goals of spouses and children of our active duty Soldiers. Persons eligible for the grants and scholarships offered by Our Family for Families First include:

Heading to Walt Disney World Resort in Sunny Florida? During Jan. 4 until December 23, 2009, Active and Retired U.S. Military Service-members can obtain one complimentary 5-day "Disney's Armed Forces Salute" ticket with Park Hopper and Water Park Fun. "Disney's Armed Forces Salute" ticket is valid for five days of admission into the either Walt Disney World Theme Parks, in addition to a total of five visits to a choice of Disney Water Park, DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park or certain other Disney attractions. During the "Disney's Armed Forces Salute" special period, active or retired United States Military personnel may also make a one-time purchase of 5 "Disney's Armed Forces Salute Companion" 5-day ticket, one theme park per day for $99.00 per ticket (plus tax). The Disney's Armed Forces Salute Companion ticket does not include the Park Hopper or Disney Water Park, however, an upgrade option is available for $25.00 (plus tax) per ticket.

Active Military Personnel, Retired Military, members of the US Military (Navy, Army, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard, Air Force) :: Disneyland Resort in California is running a park special until June 12, 2009.

Local Events DO they work?

Does local events yield prospective clients? Last month my company Realty World participated in the Fort Rucker 5K Chili Cook-off. We entered the Chili Cook Off with high hopes of having the Best Tastin' Chili. Voters thought otherwise, but we had a great time. We set up a table with marketing materials and a drawing for a gift certificate. It was a great opportunity to be face-to-face with residents all over the Wiregrass area and answer their questions about the housing market.

Today, I received a call from a gentleman who wanted to put their home in property management. I asked him how he found our company, he replied "His wife had spoken with me at the event and was impressed with all the helpful information about renting their home". He continued to state that they had lost our card and could not remember which company we were with. They Googled "Fort Rucker Chili Cook Off Contestants" and holding the number one spot was my Active Rain Blog!
