&lt;p style=&quot;text-align: justify;&quot;&gt;The building has been in a state of disrepair, and the previous owner had tried to sell it at one time. The commercial real estate market, and the potential to redevelop this historic structure are going to make a future sale rather difficult.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Clermont was built in 1924 as an apartment building. It was&amp;nbsp;converted to a&amp;nbsp;hotel in 1940. Decades ago it earned its reputation as a hip spot for a younger crowd to watch&amp;nbsp;overweight, older dancers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Let's hope that someone will be able to step up and preserve such a historic structure and put it to back to good use!&lt;/p&gt;</description>

But so much time has elapsed since I last saw them that bringing them up to date on my life would take the rest of my life, probably. I can't fit that in when I'm spending so much time socializing.. All this socializing is mostly done from the seclusion of my lair, but still. Like how sometimes I'm relieved my parents are dead already and saved from seeing how the world has devolved into such a giant wad of wasted potential. Oops. That just slipped out. I didn't mean that. I meant to say something quippy yet thought provoking in under 140 characters, but not all in caps. Because writing in all caps means you're angry or excited, and God forbid you be either of those anymore. Once a Facebook friend told me my words literally offended his eyes. Not his mind. His eyes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When I think about that, I start to get angry, but not excited. With all this proliferation of communication, you would think there'd be a proliferation of expression as well, but the opposite has happened. We're now &quot;content providers.&quot; Newspapers don't even develop their own stories anymore; they simply strap a saddle on whatever's popular in the blogsphere, where the only expression seems to be the same 140 characters proffered over and over again in a frenetic dash to capture the lowest mass denominator. Creatively, this feels like kryptonite. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&quot;Need proper care and handling,&quot; I post and then delete. Who knows what the hell that will attract. So instead I throw my oldest cat into my car and head for the mountains outside metro Atlanta, where the cords can't reach me and the signals are weak. On the way to Blue Ridge I pass a barbecue joint that sells fried pies, and right away I start wondering what that is. Do they fry it in a pan? I wonder. The whole pie? I stop at a scenic point by a trailer park and look at the trees with leaves like little tornados of gold and auburn. &amp;nbsp;The grass is still green and the sky is still blue and it's all pooling together like a giant parfait of breathtaking shades. It's so beautiful I reach out like an idiot, like I want to break off a piece to take with me. The whole thing makes me excited. It makes me angry. &lt;p&gt;Several months ago, the Atlanta Police Department launched a program called &lt;strong&gt;Atlanta Clean Car Campaign&lt;/strong&gt; in response to car break-ins that were happening in Atlanta, particularly in Zone 5, which is where Midtown and Downtown are located. People that live in the area, as well as those that don't were the direct cause of increased car break-ins because they were leaving items in their cars in plain sight.       <title>Can We Have Our Cake AND Eat it Too?</title>

Be they world, national or even local. The news can paint a picture, and you either believe it, or you take the time to research the topic and all sides of the topic, and learn more about the issue.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I get a daily digest of real estate news, sent to me by&amp;nbsp;RISMedia and sponsored by Lowe's. It's usually got some pretty good articles. In fact, I often will print, scan and send them to my clients and my sphere to keep THEM up on real estate news.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Well, today, two articles in the same digest seem to say that we can continue to have foreclosures, and WILL, because the banks do better financially by foreclosing on a homeowner instead of helping them with a loan modification.&amp;nbsp;At the same time, our home prices are going to stablize because of First Time Home Buyers and the extension of the tax credit.&amp;nbsp; To be fair to my readers, I want you to be able to read the same articles.&lt;/p&gt;

So, in the first article we read how banks are less inclined to offer loan mods since if they foreclose on the property, they now have the property to sell again.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It further states the lack of really knowing where our loan &quot;is&quot; as far as who now owns it. (Many of us pay to a &quot;servicer&quot; of our loan, not directly to the lender) makes the modification process even more difficult.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;And that it may not really be in the best interests of the bank to voluntarily modify a mortgage and you might want to look for a lawyer to assist you!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I just love that!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Then our second article gives us insights into the housing and economic recovery by Mr. Lawrence Yun, NAR Chief Economist. In the second paragraph, it states &quot;...we are hopeful about the impact of the expanded tax credit because it will stablize home prices.&quot;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Ok. I'm not always the sharpest tool in the shed, but I do have a college education.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;How can continued foreclosures help stablize home prices? Case in point. In my condo building where I live, foreclosures and short sales have brought the prices down some 24% from what people originally paid. So. many people are paying on homes that have lost 24% of their value, and there is no light at the end of the tunnel as to when the values will start back up, nor how long they will take to go back up.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So, if homeowners are having trouble with their mortgage, or the fact that they are paying on a home that has decreased value, but still the same mortgage, what is their option? It appears a loan modification will be about as easy as living on Mars. And if they go to foreclosure, how will that stablize the prices?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I'm just sayin', I don't know exactly how we can have our cake, and eat it too.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

&lt;p&gt;The Grand Opening was also a fund raising event for a special organization here in Atlanta, &lt;strong&gt;For The Kid In All Of Us. &lt;/strong&gt;This organization hosts two events each year. Back Pack in The Park asks the attendees to bring backpacks filled with school supplies for under privdliged children. And The Toy Pary, held the first Sunday in December, is...well...bring toys! This event is attended by some 2500-3000 people and is one of THE social events of the holiday season!&lt;/p&gt;
