OPEN HOUSES and why I hate them... (at least I thought I did?)

The prospect of spending a beautiful Sunday afternoon stuck inside of somebody else's house by myself did not exactly thrill me. You get to stare longingly out the windows, as the world and sometimes your life, passes you by. There are children joyfully playing, neighbors triumphantly walking in exercise, and cars driving by filled with the anticipation of going somewhere new and exciting. But not I. I am here. In this house with only a couple hours of solitary confinement to look forward to. Help!

Did you ever feel that way?
Yesterday was unexpected. Maybe the stars were aligned differently or I was just due, who knows. But yesterday was indeed very different. I arranged my paperwork on the kitchen table and walked to the door to see what I'd be missing today. Lo and behold, there in the driveway was a potential buyer waiting for me to "open". That was different. I almost asked her if she was lost or if she was just a nosey neighbor. Turns out she saw the advertising and really wanted to see the home. Wow. It didn't stop there either, a total of 7 different groups visited and 4 of them are serious, genuine buyers. Doing some quick Math, I realized that since there was only 1 home to sell the 4 different buyers, I have to find some more houses quick (-;
What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

To Blog Or Not To Blog, That Is The Suggestion.

If Shakespeare was with us today, would those be his famous words? Or perhaps Woody Allen would have said it instead. One can only wonder...

Anyway, since I just joined Active Rain, I have been debating with myself (and yes, it gets ugly sometimes) about blogging. Before I expound on my dilemma, I have to first ask the most obvious question, and that is, what exactly is a blog? For that matter, does the word blogging have one g or two g's??? And whose brainchild was it that keyed the vernacular "blog" in the first place. According to one source, the term blog is defined as "To write entries in, add material to, or maintain a weblog." Okay, that works for me but I do not ever want to be referred to as a "blogger". Ever. Many an uncomplimentary dispersion have been cast my way but that word conjures many 'mental pictures' that no one would want to be associated with. Sorry. And to further emphsise the point, what does that make you who are reading this??? A blogee? I certainly hope not.

No delima anymore, I will blog. You have my solemn word. I will try my best to write not only entertaining but also informative blogs to all my fellow, dare I say, blogmates. Ouch.

Step aside "location, location, location", it's time for "blog, blog, blog".
