How's the market? I'll tell you.

One of things I've noticed in the course of my Real Estate career is that lots of folks are interested in how the "market is doing". I remember a former broker of mine telling us people always want to know and that it is hip and trendy to discuss Real Estate. This seems to ring true in many respects.

As an agent who focuses on Snohomish county and the cities of Arlington, Marysville, Lake Stevens and Everett, the market has certainly changed. Markets do that, don't they? It's remarkable in my mind how things get lumped together. One thing is for sure, the Real Estate climate is largely a local issue. In a word, what's happening across the country is not always true for our local market.

All in all, though time on market has lengthened and prices have flattened or declined, Snohomish County remains an excellent area to buy or sell homes and land. Sales may have even slowed down, still a super place to buy or sell.

So, if you ask me how the market is...

I say it's still great, maybe just not as great as some previous time(s) but still great.

Marysville Washington, a terrific place to live!

As major cities, such as Seattle, grow residents often want to enjoy the benefits of working there but for numerous reasons choose not to live there. Due to this, "bedroom communities" sprout up. One of these is Marysville Washington.

Incorporated in 1891 by James Comeford, Marysville has grown to have a population of over 35,000.With the surrounding areas, that figure climbs. The nickname of this place is "the Strawberry City" and this is celebrated the second week of June each year. Of course, this would be due to the numerous strawberry fields located around the city. This festival is not to be missed and Marysville residents flock to the main street, State Street, for the annual parade which never disappoints.

With growth comes jobs and amenities. Though there is a mall located in town, much of the shopping is just North with a nice Outlet mall, a Walmart, and further north in the Smokey Point area, large stores like Costco, Best Buy, Target and more.

Homes in the area are mixed as far as age and style. Many of the older homes in the downtown area are two story while in the outlying areas, small one level homes of 900-1200 square feet are common and still affordable by today's standards. In the south end of town in the Sunnyside area, and to the East near Cedarcrest Golf Course, the homes can be a bit larger and there is quite of lot of new construction going on.

There are currently 10 Elementary schools with an 11th under construction in Marysville. There are also 4 "middle schools" which host students in the 6-8 grades. Marysville-Pilchuck High is the largest of the 4 High Schools (which also includes Arts &Tech, Marysville Alternative High School, and Tulalip Heritage School. To the East, a new High School is also under construction.

Life in Marysville is a wonderful mix of city and country.

All in all, Marysville has it all! Marysville Washington, a terrific place to live!
