There is a program that is very inexpensive you can download that will enable your computer to talk to you.

Listen to your e-mails, documents, help files, or anything you can copy to the clipboard. It will even remind you of appointments.

You can even create talking webpages with this software!

So where can you get this nifty tool. Check it out on the shadisoft site here, very inexpensive there is a free trial, a $9.95 version or the delux version for $19,95.

If you know of a sick or hospitalized family member or friend here is a site that can make staying in touch easy and less intrusive. It helps let you check on the patient's condition and progress with ease.

When a patient scheduled for hopspitalization a family member or friend can call the quarterback (or guardian angel) and a secure patient page is set up for updates, which can be e-mailed anytime a condition changes and is posted to the site.

This way you can be anywhere in the world and check in, or leave a confidential message. Friends and family can remain informed. This service is also FREE

Check it out I hope you won't have to be using it anytime soon for anyone you know but it is a handy site to know about.

The first page to visit is the home page, which shows you how to get it done online with a variety of options.

Want to buy a surplus car, apply for a social security number, get a passport this is the place to start.

This is a tremendous resource for consumer guides, benefits and grants, money and taxes, voting and elections, education, and you can even find where the cheapest gas is located near you.

This site deserves a bookmark and heaven only knows when you will need information available from this site.

Other topics include family, home, community, science and technology, history arts and culture plus many more.

The site offers tips for households, beauty, cleaning, money, health, handyman, pets, and a variety of other topics that will add a little spice to those newsletters. You can also add a link to your website for this information or add a list of helpful hints from it to your getting your home ready to sell.

You can send in tips too if you have one you want to share.

Hurricane Season is here again!

Today hurricane season started again. Ok Floridians it is time to be sure you are prepared. The television did a great program on this again with tons of great tips. 2005 broke all the record books 28 storms 2006 was quiet to say the least.

So are you ready even the simpliest things can help.

First and foremost listen to the warnings and be sure your family survival kit is ready and evacuation route clear. Like the boyscouts be prepared!

What does a disaster plan include and what do you need in that survival kit? A weather radio, food and water for 3 days at a mnimum, insurance information, and cash.

Keep this in a conveniently located place and don't forget your pet's needs too.

If you live along the coast the greatest threat of the hurricane is a storm surge, winds can be amazingly intense but more damage comes from water. Just ask anyone that dealt with this during Katrina.

The greatest threat for anyone who doesn't live at the beach is flooding. Flooding causes half of all deaths related to hurricanes following the storm.

If you have damage you need to have personal inventory, flood insurance and home insurance papers. Read and understand your policy and know what is and is not covered. Separate policies may be needed to cover incoming water which standard policies do not cover. It may also be helpful to leave a copy with family not in Florida. Just as when you are traveling leaving a copy of your passport with a family member is not a bad idea.

Around your home during a hurricane the point of most frequent structural damage is your garage door. They are segmented usually get the most damage. Still protecting your windows with 3/8th inch plywood or hurricane shutters is also recommended. If one window goes so can the roof. Tape does not keep a window from shattering.

When should you evacuate? When emergency management gives the order this means the treat is genuine. 50% of the population resides within 50 miles of the coast so get out in time, and move to a designated shelter or relativies inland. Don't forget your pets!

If you are caught in a hurricane and unable to evacuate the safest place to ride it out is an interior room without skylights, glass doors or windows. Best of all an interior storm safe room..and add an ax to your survival kit. Under no circumstances should you drive your car!

What kind of help can you expect none you should be prepared to be on your own for up to 72 hours after the storm. No gas power etc. again the best reason to be prepared.

If you are not effected get out and help your neighbors.

credit card, purse...etc....was stolen. 20 minutes later when she called her
hubby, from a pay phone telling him what had happened, hubby says "I've just
received your text asking about our Pin number and I've replied a little
while ago." When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all
the money was already withdrawn.

The pickpocket had actually used the stolen hand phone to text "hubby" in
the contact list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 minutes he had
withdrawn all the money from the bank account. Moral of the lesson: Do not
disclose the relationship between you and the people in your contact list.
Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, sweetheart, Dad, Mum etc.......
and very importantly, when sensitive info is being asked thru texts, CONFIRM
by calling back. Also, when you're being texted by friends or family to
meet them somewhere, be sure to call back to confirm that the message came
from them. If you don't reach them, be very careful about going places to
meet "family and friends" who text you.

House Fire Story worth the read

I received from a friend who had a friend in the insurance property business. It
is well worth reading.

This is one of those e-mails that if you don't send it, rest assured
someone on your list will suffer for not reading it.

Here is the original message written by a lady whose brother and wife learned a hard lesson this
past week.

Their house burnt down.. nothing left but ashes. They have good
insurance so the house will be replaced and most of the contents. That is the good
news. However, they were sick when they found out the cause of the fire.

The insurance investigator sifted through the ashes for several hours. He
had the cause of the fire traced to the master bathroom. He asked her
sister-in-law what she had plugged in the bathroom. She listed the normal
things....curling iron, blow dryer. He kept saying to her, "No, this would be something
that would disintegrate at high temperatures". Then her sister-in-law remembered
she had a X Brand air freshener Plug-In, in the bathroom.

The investigator had one of those "Aha" moments. He said that was the
cause of the fire. He said he has seen more house fires started with the
plug-in type room fresheners than anything else. He said the plastic they are
made from is THIN. He also said that in every case there was nothing left to
prove that it even existed.

When the investigator looked in the wall plug, the two prongs left from the plug-in were still in there.
Her sister-in-law had one of the plug-ins that had a small night light built in it. She said she had noticed that the light would dim and then finally go out.

She would walk in to the bathroom a few hours later, and the light would be back on again. The investigator said that the unit was getting too hot, and would dim and go out rather than just blow the light bulb. Once
it cooled down it would come back on. That is a warning sign .

The investigator said he personally wouldn't have any type of plug in fragrance device anywhere in his house. He has seen too many places that have been burned down due to them.

Florida Property Tax Relief and Reform Bill Closer than we think!

FLORIDA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

APPROVES HISTORIC PROPERTY TAX RELIEF & REFORM

~House says Florida voters should be the ones to decide on the way they will be taxed on homes and properties, and votes to immediately roll back taxes to 2000-2001 levels~

House Republicans yesterday approved a historic property tax relief and reform package that will cut property tax bills by $6.3 billion dollars next year, statewide, and gives Floridians the opportunity to vote for even more savings by eliminating property taxes on their homesteads.

"Too often in Tallahassee we hear from the lobbyists, and the politicians, and the special interests who collect our taxes," said Speaker Marco Rubio. "Today we heard loud and clear from the people who pay the taxes. We listened to them, we took their ideas, and we have given them the power to eliminate property taxes in Florida. We are committed to ensuring that the next property tax bill Floridians receive is one that they can afford, and today was the first step toward making that happen."

"No amount of spin can erase the fact that the plan we approved today is the single largest tax relief package in Florida history, a potential net savings of $6.9 billion dollars for anyone who is currently being crushed under the high cost of property taxes," said Representative Dean Cannon. "If you pay property taxes, under the plan approved today, you will see relief."

HJR 7089, sponsored by Speaker-Designate Ray Sansom, was approved by a vote of 78 representatives, including three Democrats, Representatives Luis Garcia, Ed Bullard and Michael Scionti. The provisions, if approved by the voters of the state of Florida, will result in a net tax relief savings of $6.9 billion dollars, and will save every homestead property owner an average of $2300 dollars. The provisions will also allow voters to vote for the complete elimination of the property taxes they pay on their homesteads in exchange for two and half pennies of sales tax.

The provision, if approved by the voters, accomplishes a property tax cut, a cap on local government taxing and spending, and a swap to eliminate property taxes in exchange for sales tax:

A Cut: Requires all local governments except schools to set property tax rates to where they would have been if tax revenues had grown only in proportion to community growth and inflation since FY 2003-04. Also, the Legislature must exempt hospital districts, fiscally constrained counties and cities therein, and children's services councils from the required rate roll back by general law.

· A Cap: Limits future local government revenues to the rolled-back-rate (which allows revenue growth in proportion to community growth) plus changes in the Consumer Price Index.

· A Swap: Establishes a formula that provides local control and flexibility to further reduce property taxes on homestead properties.

"House Republicans are once again leading the way on tax relief," said Majority Leader Marty Bowen. "Today's vote was about challenging the status quo and giving the people of Florida the final say over how they will be taxed. I am proud of the Republicans and Democrats who voted for this historic property tax relief and reform measure."

House Bill (HB)7001 was approved unanimously and provides $6.3 billion dollars in immediate tax relief this year and will cut the average property owner's bills by 19%. HB 7001 provides immediate relief with a property tax cut, and a cap on local government taxing and spending.

A Cut: Requires an immediate reduction in millage rates for all local taxing authorities except school districts, fiscally constrained counties, hospital districts, and Children's Services Councils. Millage rates will be limited to what they would have been if revenues had only grown in proportion to inflation plus community growth since FY 2000-01. This will apply to FY 2007-08.
A Cap: Links future growth of local revenues to community growth and inflation. Beginning in FY 2008-09, growth in property tax revenues is limited to the "rolled-back-rate" plus changes in the Consumer Price Index. This cap applies to all taxes except those levied for school districts, for the payment of bonds, or for a 2-year period when authorized by a vote of electors.

In addition, HB 7001:

Requires a supermajority vote of the governing authority to exceed the revenue cap. Approval by the greater of 2/3 of the governing board or a majority plus one can exceed the cap for the current fiscal year. Failure to comply with this vote requirement will forfeit state revenue sharing.
Taxpayers will see relief on their next tax bill (in November 2007).
Provides immediate tax relief averaging 19% savings on the total tax bill.
The average affected county's total budget will be reduced by about 9%, and the average city's total budget will be reduced by about 7%.

Animal Rescue - It is simple, please help we need animal lovers to unite!

getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of
getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals.
