Often when Tom Braatz and his sidekick Lars travel they get hungry. Yes, it is true that we eat most of our meals in restaurants, and in Dousman Wisconsin there is a magnificent restaurant named "The Sunny Side Up" that always delivers the best in Mexican food, American food, and wonderful fish fries. David and his wife Liz serve up some of the best Huevos Rancheros for anyone to start their day out on.

Lars loves the leftovers and tortillas and he would second it in a second how down to Earth and kind these people are to him. The Sunny Side Up restaurant is located just south of Highway 18 in Dousman Wisconsin on Hwy 67; about a 1/4 south of the intersection. Great ambiance, amazing food, and wonderful people; it's one of our favorites, and will always be. Stop in and enjoy this beautiful restaurant and tell them Tom Braatz the real estate agent, and his buddy Lars sent you! When you are hungry in the Waukesha County real estate market you cannot go wrong eating here. Christina's restaurant in Waukesha,Wisconsin; this real estate agent loves their Moussaka

I have had the privilege of working with my friend George Papagayanous for twenty years now. I have helped George with buildings, restaurant, and other types of commercial real estate in Waukesha County for almost 20 years now and I would think it would be harder to find a finer man. Always friendly, caring, and kind George has a family restaurant that happens to have some pretty amazing Greek food as well. You know it's a problem when you have to decide between Moussaka, Pastichio, Spanakopita, and other wonderful entrees. My son Spencer will tell you the desserts and including the baklava is a wise choice. You can always count on a friendly smile from Tom at the desk as well. This food is awesome, and George and everyone at Christina's know how to make everyone feel like they are family.

Christina's is located at 350 Delafield St., in Waukesha Wisconsin 53188, and you can reach them at 262-542-6739. Christina's is open long hours from sunrise to late into the night. Thank you George! Lars's gives this two paws up and knows when I walk back to our sports car he has a major treat in store for him.

When you are hungry in the Waukesha County Real Estate market it's time to go to the China Town restaurant!

It seems like some of the best places for food can be of the beaten path at times. There is a relatively new restaurant in Oconomowoc Wisconsin that has some pretty amazing food. Even though it is on Highway P (Brown Street) in Oconomowoc it is still being discovered by many. There are times I have a hankering for good chinese food in Oconomowoc Wisconsin and when I go to the China Town restaurant I know I will always have the bet of service, amazing food, and a happy environment that makes me feel right at home. It's always nice to see Danny's face welcoming me, and he and his family always make sure you are very welcomed. Did I mention the food was phenomenal?

The China Town restaurant is open seven days a week, Monday through Saturday 11:00 am - 10:00 pm, and Sundays 11:00 am - 9:00 pm. Located at 1280 Brown Street, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin 53066. Their number is 262-569-1688, and their fax number is 262-569-1689. Tell them Tom Braatz sent you! So when you are looking for restaurants in oconomowoc,Wisconsin put this on your list!

I could also mention you are minutes from so many beautiful and pristine lakes which offer so many activities and lots of enjoyment. I could go on about the quality of the schools, the parks, local government and more. The one thing that you will notice stands out everything else?

Well, it's the people. It's people that smile and wave back at you for no apparent reason. It's the people that watch over kids, and other individuals not because they have to, but because they want to. It's all the people that you see each day that welcome you and treat you like they have known you all their life but, in fact, You don't know each other. The Hair Benders in Okauchee, Wisconsin is a great Business with attention to detail In the Waukesha County real estate market

At best I get a hair cut and style about twice a year. Yes, it gets longer but I have amazing people that will always attend to it. When I listen to Vicky on Tuesday morning give her 60 second presentation I know I will always be in good hands going to her salon in Okauchee Wisconsinin the Waukesha County Real estate market to get that much needed haircut.

Cherie Kucza does a wonderful job and it's nice to sit and joke around while she makes me look my best. Pewaukee,Pewaukee Lake,the history of Waukesha Beach,and the Pewaukee real estate market

Driving along the beach front looking out at Pewaukee Lake you wouldn't think of the history and activity that existed there at one point. It wasn't too long ago that we could always congregate at Calvanos for a Monday night open music party, at least from what I can recollect. Now all that is gone and there is a magnificent board walk of buildings in the whole streets place. prior to that, it was a simple life and enjoyment, trolley cars, picnics, and eventually an amusement park. That is all gone now and the only thing that is certain in ones eyes is the same magnificent Pewaukee Lake. My grandmother used to tell me that everyone in Waukesha would come out and spend the day and evening at Waukesha beach. The name was conceived by two businessmen that purchased a parcel in 1893. P.J. Buckley and T.E. Ryan purchased a portion of land along the southern side of Pewaukee Lake. The two named their new plot Waukesha Beach.

Right around the turn of the new century, Foster C. Phelps, owner of a Waukesha resort hotel and mayor of the City, purchased Waukesha Beach. In the beginning, Waukesha Beach was a nice, calm place to go and relax a bit. Visitors could take a leisurely stroll along the beachfront or go diving from an enormous platform. Then, in 1910, the fate of the Beach changed as a small roller coaster, called the Figure 8, was constructed. The ride was immensely popular, drawing crowds in ever growing numbers, and in turn causing an explosion of activity. All kinds of rides, concession stands, and games began to appear. More boats began to make stops at Waukesha Beach, and trolley lines began to arrive with visitors on a daily basis. Two new roller coasters were added,and many other amusements awaited visitors, as Waukesha Beach. Time, and the economy had it's way with Waukesha beach and now what stands a test of time is just that Waukesha Beach at Pewaukee Lake.

Moor Mud Baths History in Waukesha,Wisconsin and the Grand View Resort.

John Weber a Milwaukee Real Estate agent purchased a 87 acre plot on the northern side of Waukesha, Wisconsin . Mr. Weber had no idea what was to come and the monumental impact he would have with the Moor Down mud baths and a health resort. Mr. Weber's property had black Moor mud on it and it contained the same medicinal remedies that the black Moor mud did in Germany and the European mud baths..

Upon a trip and follow up research to Germany the decision to built the Grand View Health resort was built and opened in 1911. This property is now part of the Waukesha County office buildings. Prior to the county the property was a Catholic seminary. The original hotel and resort was thirty two rooms with an addition that followed that added another thirty rooms. Andrew Frame, a Waukesha resident built a large golf course in 1919 around the whole complex and the golf course still is in use today.

1916 saw John Weber Jr. patent a new type of couch for mud baths made from clay or terra cotta. The whole system was heated and was easier to clean up as well. The baths at Moor Downs grew and added yet another wing in 1921, and a women's bath in 1926. An east wing was added in 1928. Capacity was 200 visitors a day, the complex and had 108 rooms. In 1929, the stock market crashed and the Great Depression struck Waukesha and the entire country, The Grand View Health Resort switched its attention on attracting wealthy Chicago visitors. They were known for slot machines and poker, as well as the traditional golf, baths and massages.

In 1946, John Weber Jr. retired from managing the Moor Mud Baths in Waukesha, Wisconsin . In 1950 the property was sold to the Salvation Brothers of New York, who turned it into a college. Finally, in November of 1972, the building that once housed the famous Moor Mud Baths was purchased by Waukesha County, and remodeled into the County Office Building. Just another beautiful property in the Waukesha County real estate market, in Waukesha,Wisconsin.

Waukesha, Wisconsin: From World famous Water to Les Paul: a look at it's history.

When you walk down streets in the City of Waukesha, Wisconsin you immediately notice all the original architecture that makes this city famous. Prior to now Waukesha was known as "Spring City" and had many numerous spring houses that contained Waukesha's famous water. People would come from afar to experience the medicinal qualities of the water including Abraham Lincoln's wife Mary who spent the summer of 1872 in Waukesha. The founder of Sears stayed at his house outside of Waukesha and passed away in Waukesha. Les Paul (see video link below entitled History of Waukesha) was born and raised in Waukesha and went on to become one of the greatest inventors in music creating multi track recording and the solid body guitar.

The water in Waukesha, Wisconsin and the Springs were outstanding. In fact; it became a phenomana with all the springs,spas, and resorts, not to say the famous visitors; Sears, Grant, Lincoln, Chase, and many more would make this a destination. In the year 1869, Richard Dunbar began what would later be deemed a sheer extravagance. In the forty years from 1870 to 1910, the village of Waukesha experienced changes by leaps and bounds. It saw the installation of close to 50 different springs including Silurian, Lethain, Horeb, Arcadian, and White Rock springs. The city experienced visitors of fame and wealth from all over the Union, enormous and ornate resorts, shipments of famous Waukesha Water with destinations all over the world.Waukesha, Wisconsin became a national tourist attraction and resort location. It's difficult to envision our city so drastically different, as many of the urban landscapes now present were then beautifully decorated parks filled with sparkling springs.

People arrived in the hundreds by train every day, and made their way to lounge on stone steps or in park benches where they could comfortably drink the healing waters and relax. Waukesha was gardens (large floral gardens still are maintained in Frame park), with flowers of all colors, pools and streams, paths through groves of trees and shaded spring houses.

The growth of Waukesha, Wisconsin in it's early days from the water, the history, Les Paul, and the resorts is wonderful. You get this sense walking and talking with the people in Waukesha, Wisconsin. My next article will be on the World famous Waukesha Moor Downs Mud baths which had amazing healing powers as well. I often think if Norman Rockweel would have visited the City of Waukesha Wisconsin he would have never left. There would have been plenty here for him.

The economy and life in Waukesha County real estate was up in the air for some time but we are finding ourselves buried in work and we would not want it any other way. It is true that they extended the first time buyer tax credit and even better they have a credit for existing home buyers that are looking to move up. What's this all about? Want to know more?
