Happy New Year to all my faithful blog followers and ActiveRain friends! I hope 2012 brings you all good health and much happiness. I'm in the New Year's spirit -- but after seeing a house today, I'm thinking Halloween. This is the basement: Can't say I've ever seen this before!

I'm not a fan. But I play one on TV (or, in this case, on the MLS). You've heard it once, you've heard it a million time -- "Your first showing will be on the Internet." So it's essential that you stage for your photographs. People will make a snap decision on whether they really want to visit ...

I'm not a Trash Man, but . . . I'd have moved the garbage cans before taking this -- the main listing photo -- I just can across on our MLS. This is a nice, upscale home in (what I always thought was) a well-tended development. Ugh. How unappealing. I wonder how many listings they didn't get be...
