Indian Lake Village Residential Plan Approved - 07/15/07 08:00 PM
The Hendersonville Planning commission approved the first 259 residential units to be built in Indian Lake Village.
Indian Lake Village will be a mixture of residential, office and retail space.  This first residential phase will consist of single-family, condo and townhomes.  32 single-family detached units, 98 single-family townhomes and 33 single-family family loft units and 96 condominium flat units will make up this phase that will cover 27 acres...just north of the Saundersville Road extension.

Hendersonville Will Have a Brand New Library - 07/15/07 04:34 PM
Plans are almost complete!  Hendersonville will have a new 38,000 s.f. Library....at a cost of $7-10 Million Dollars.
The new library will sit on almost 4 acres in the Indian Lake Boulevard area.  Fundraising is ongoing and they hope to have enough additional money to increase the hours of operation. 
The facility will feature separate spaces for a children's story-time area, a pre-school, juvenile and grade school reading areas.  They will have computer labs, a technology center and an outdoor reading porch that will overlook the library garden.

Tennessee Has New Sex Offender Laws - 07/15/07 04:29 PM
The State of Tennessee has enacted new legislation that will greatly increase the numbers on the Sex Offender Registry.
As of July 1, information about ALL sex offenders that are registered with local law enforcement will be available to the public.  Prior to this new legislation, information was kept confidential if the offense was committed before July 1, 1997.
Sex offenders must register in person annually with the local law enforcement.  But if the offense was violent, they must register on a quarterly basis.

Nashville Mayor Has Submitted a Property Tax Freeze for Senior Citizens - 07/12/07 09:19 AM
Nashville's Mayor Bill Purcell has recently submitted a resolution that would result in a property tax freeze for homeowners in Nashville over the age of 65...with an income of less than $34,260.  This would affect over 31,000 homeowners that would be eligible for this program.
This resolution to give senior citizens assurance that their tax bills won't increase by either adoption of higher tax rates or assessments is expected to go before the Metro Council on July 17.

Nashville's June Home Sales - 07/12/07 09:13 AM
Blame it on last year, which reported a record 4,060 home sales in June, 2006.  This  year was down slightly with 3,588 home sales in the Nashville area.  
This is the 3rd consecutive year in which there have been more than 18,000 homes sold by mid year.  There were 3,330 sales pending at the end of the month compared to 3,892 at the end of June last year.
Prices have gone up to an average single family home being $196,000 compared to last year's average of $181,000.

Nashville's Got a New TV Show! - 07/05/07 03:35 PM
Nashville is the star of a new Fox TV Reality Show!  Actually it's part documentary, part reality.  Nashville will draw national attention and be showcased as never before.
The new show will focus on "Dream Makers and Dreamers in the music industry", as well as individuals to are trying to succeed in big business and high society in Nashville.
Production has already started...and will follow people through different stages of their careers.  Almost all of the filming will be done in Nashville, and the show will be aired on Fridays at 9:00 P.M. starting in mid-September.

The annual "Let Freedom Sing" celebration was so awesome last night.  There's such excitement in Nashville and it makes me proud to be part of it all!  
Over 100,000 people were on hand to celebrate the 4th of July at Riverfront Park.  Actually, it's one of the largest fireworks displays in the nation.  The celebration is an all-day event...with activities for children as well as adults.  
And since Nashville is known as Music City USA....one would expect lots of music.  And music it was.....with concerts all day long.  The evening's concert featured country music stars such as Taylor Swift, Rodney Adkins and … (0 comments)
