As local residents we sure hope you will support this July 16th, 2008, new establishment! It's in the old Rowdy Buck building just to the right off of the Donegal turnpike entrance. Eat in or take out!
This is their third restaurant for owners Kathy Marsico-Kaminski and Kevin Kaminski. It's country and cozy with quality meals at reasonable prices. Just what the mountain has been waiting for! Kathy had her own TV cooking show, "Ladles Kitchen" on three Western PA cable stations. She also has her first cook book for sale!

Last week we were told that "The Villages at Seven Springs Real Estate Resort Property Sales" name has been retired. It's a sad day for Abe as she remembers when she worked with Kettler Forlines, Inc and they opened up the resale division. She was the Broker of Record.
She shares, "Back then we were all about new construction. We were turning prospective buyers for resales away when they came into our office. Hey, if you're spending time at Seven Springs or Hidden Valley this weekend you might want to check out Somerfest! For 29 years it has ALWAYS been a crowd pleaser. So as they celebrate the big 30 this weekend expect maximum fun!!

Market Overview
After returning from our mid year national and our state REALTOR meetings here is the message, "When you hear that the national average temperature is 68 degrees for today, you automatically stop and adjust it to fit your home town."

THAT'S what you need to do when it comes to the real estate market! Adjust accordingly! Right now, buyers won't be happy to hear, but so far both resorts are fairing way better than the National statistics! Just to prove once again that all markets can not be lumped into a 15 second sound bite!

Here today gone tomorrow! According to the local newspapers Scott Bender is now a Hidden Valley employee. Check out the Somerset Daily American and Johnstown Tribune-Democrat stories.
Back in our July 2007 e-letter PRIOR to Buncher formally recording their purchase of Hidden Valley we wrote, "We do believe that there is a perfect storm brewing out there when it comes to finding and retaining top notch employees. Seven Springs has always carried between 800 to 1,300 depending upon the season and Hidden Valley has seen more people leave than stay for the long term. Our phone has been ringing off of the hook!  Effective today, Scott Bender, CEO of Seven Springs Mountain Resort handed in his resignation. Rumors have been flying for the past month of his departure. They all have been strongly denied by Scott and those around him.
We believe his talents are going to be utilized here in the Laurel Highlands (Hidden Valley has yet to hire a General Manager). At the inner circle of management for the Nutting's there are few "top dogs" remaining from the Dupre era.
