They have just about everything you walked out of the house and forgot to pack!! Munchies, soda, toothbrushes, clothing, even auto supplies! BEFORE we go any further know that the "GOOD NEWS STATISTICS" that we are about to share are calculated by adding ALL transfers together from MLS and Court House records. There IS a significant difference if you focus on any one style of property. Call us for more details! SO here goes, BOTH RESORT MARKETS SAW APPRECIATION AND AN INCREASE IN THEIR AVERAGE SELLING PRICE! Hummmm, stocks vs real estate?? Build it and they will come. Make it free and they will come in GROVES. Arriving at the parking lot at 8:30 I saw something that you haven’t seen at this resort for a long time, a full parking lot on a Friday morning. Talking to several people unloading their equipment many haven’t been at this resort for several years and it is nice to see them back. Walking with the crowd to the lodge sunshine and temperatures in the 30’s greeted us, a perfect day for snow sports. The upper skier’s lodge has new carpet, fresh paint, new tables and (0 comments)

Here's some background info for those of you who are just becoming acquainted with our markets. Way back in 2006 both Seven Springs Mountain Resort and Nemacolin Resort had their applications in for a category 3 resort slots license. In Pennsylvania this allows for "permitting of a maximum of 500 slot machines in well-established resort hotels. They must be well-established with no fewer than 275 guest rooms under common ownership, not located within 15 linear miles of any other licensed slot machine casino, and already offering substantial year-round recreational guest amenities on their premises." BIG NEWS! The areas first National store is under construction! When you get off of the turnpike headed to either resort go .9 miles and it's on your right. Yes, we have McDonalds, Subway, and the gas stations at the turnpike entrance but this is the first stand alone store that is a Fortune 400 company! According to their web site Leon Levine opened up the first Family Dollar store in 1959. Concentrating on offerings that were "high quality, good-value merchandise for under two dollars." Oakhurst Tea Room at 2409 Glades Pike, Somerset, PA 15501 located on route 31 headed into Somerset is anything BUT a tea room! Established in 1933 when prohibition made it illegal to consume alcohol the "gentlemens" teapots were filled with liquor! Make sure you check out their web site! You'll find info on their Luncheon Buffet Tues - Sat 11 am - 3 pm, their Friday Seafood Buffet from 4-9pm and their Sunday Brunch 11am - 2pm. Each year the Laurel Highlands Tourism Bureau spends a day visiting local members. This trip is always a great and gives us a chance to meet the owners and have a behind the scenes look at the many great attractions the Laurel Highlands area offers. Here is where we went and here is the Virtual Mapping Link. Hidden Valley Our group was greeted by Bill Doring, VP of Buncher Company. Our first stop was at John Harvard's Restaurant on Route 31 near the entrance, modeled after the same restaurant in Monroeville.
