New construction in the Calgary Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) reached 685 units in June 2010, up from 434 units in the previous year. Year-over-year improvements in both the number of single-detached and multi-family units started contributed to the rise.
To the end of June, total housing starts increased from 1,981 units in 2009 to 4,617 units in 2010.
