I spent a good portion of this week in a local spot waiting for the 10 point buck to come my way. 
And, it nearly did....but the gal across the road actually got it!  And, I congratulate her.  We know that it came near me, but just not quite close enough. 
Not quite close enough doesn't work in real estate either.  I got a buck, just not the 10 pointer.  Doesn't matter, it was enough for my purpose.  I am quite a bit higher in my profession, however.  And, I might not get the 10 pointer there either, but, in real … (5 comments)

Clean up Elk River - literally. - 11/02/10 09:59 PM
Elk River area volunteers helped to take out 600 pounds of trash from within the Elk River watershed on October 16, 2010.  What a great job!  And, how horrible to know that that included 17 tires.  Who would do that?  Tires can be recylced.  And, probably a lot of that trash could have been, too. 
But, we have to congratulate those who took the time to clean up the community---namely, the volunteers from Wapiti Campgound who have been the only group to "adopt" a section of the river which includes approximately a one-mile stretch of the Elk River within the camp boundaries. … (8 comments)

A free community foreclosure forum will be held from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Elk River YMCA, 13337 Business Center Drive in Elk River. Father and Son Hunting Grouse - A Great Fall Experience - 11/01/10 10:17 PM
My son and I went grouse hunting the weekend before last and had a terrific time.  Here are some of the shots of my proud son and I following a great weekend near International Falls, Minnesota.  We have a great dog, Lefty, to help out, of course.  And we share the weekend with my in-laws. 
We leave Zimmerman frequently during the fall and winter to hunt and snowmobile.  It is a great area to explore.  Spring and summer are also great in the northwoods, and we frequently spend a week or so up there in the early summer.
