california: Hard Money Lender Source Capital Gets A Grade from the BBB - 5.14.2012 - 05/14/12 04:40 PM

Happy 100th Birthday, BBB!

Most people have heard of the Better Business Bureau a.k.a. the BBB. But what is it exactly? The BBB is a corporation founded, believe it or not, in 1912! That’s right. It celebrates its Centennial this year, as it turns 100 years old.
The BBB consists of separately governed and incorporated local organizations throughout the United States and Canada wearing the name Better Business Bureau. These independently operated branches are affiliated with the Council of Better Business Bureaus (CBBB).
Okay. So that’s who they are, but still what do they do? The Better Business … (0 comments)

california: Hard Money Lender Overcomes Challenges to Fund Loans - 5.11.2012 - 05/11/12 04:17 PM

Mom's take on unbelieveable challenges, but the rewards are so worth it!

Sunday is Mother’s Day. Being a parent is, in my opinion one of the most challenging jobs on the planet. With all challenges, also come rewards. I am certain if you talk to any involved mom or dad, they would tell you how rewarding their role is. They would undoubtedly share how every challenge they have had to face with their children has been worth it.
I’m not a parent, unless you count my beautiful dog Ginger. Then I am a very involved mom for sure! I … (2 comments)

california: Hard Money Lender for Clients with Foreclosures/Bad Credit - 5.10.2012 - 05/10/12 05:42 AM

Sometimes things happen in our life that we are not proud of. Our response may be to keep these incidents to ourselves, pretend they didn’t happen and simply move forward the best we can. Often sharing our shortcomings can help us let go of judgement and be more accepting of ourselves. This can put us back on track for increased self-confidence, strength and empowerment vs. feelings of failure, embarrassment and defeat.

The reality is that sometimes putting food on the table is our top priority.

With the progression of today’s weakened economy more and more of us have … (1 comments)

california: Hard Money Loans for Arizona and California Real Estate - 5.2.2012 - 05/02/12 08:57 AM
Homeownership is down due greatly to the growing number of property foreclosures in our country. Another contributing factor is stricter criteria of traditional banks keeping potential buyers from purchasing. Detailed information regarding this issue can be found in the article at the link below.

So, what do you do if you want to buy, but you don’t meet a bank’s rules for qualification? Where do you turn if you yourself have … (1 comments)

california: Real Estate in San Diego County's Wine Country of Temecula - 4.30.2012 - 04/30/12 04:18 PM

Whether or not you enjoy vino, Temecula's wine country is a beautiful sight.

Although I was born in San Diego, I lived the majority of my life in Washington State. When I moved back down to California in 2007 I didn’t know where anything was. I didn’t care if I got lost, because when I did I would have to find my way back home. This allowed me to learn the local geography. This is another example of how “mistakes” can be great learning experiences!
I was actually living in San Diego County quite a few months before learning … (0 comments)

california: Buy Rural Property in Arizona and California - 4.27.2012 - 04/27/12 04:28 PM
Wouldn't this be nice? With or without animal companions, now is the time to snag some land!

My grandma helped choose my blog topic for today. I asked her what she would like to see me write about. She responded, “animals.” She knows how much I love animals. Although I am not writing about animals specifically, her idea helped me to think of a topic I haven’t written about before, farm land.
You may not dream of living on the farm, but how great would it be to have more than just a lot, but instead acreage?! I like the … (1 comments)

california: Home Buying Mistakes and How to Avoid Them - 4.13.2012 - 04/13/12 03:18 PM

Mistakes are part of learning. Sometimes there are ways to avoid them and still learn what we need to.

Today is Friday the 13th. Some people believe it is symbolic for bad luck. When we make a mistake sometimes is viewed in that same way. I, however do not see mistakes as a bad thing. We may not be happy when they happen, but they are part of any learning process. In addition to learning from our own mistakes, we can learn from the mistakes of others. This can help us avoid them ourselves.  The article at the … (1 comments)

california: Home Loans in Arizona and California with Help from a Private Lender - 4.11.2012 - 04/11/12 05:29 PM

Sometimes we need help getting our new home.

I have a new friend. We met because we are both active within the local pet community and were involved with helping to re-home a displaced cat. In our interactions I learned that he is also a realtor. So, he not only helps felines, but he helps humans find new homes too! I asked him if he worked with any particular private lenders and told him about Source Capital. He works with a niche market within the San Diego population. The vast majority of his clients buy property outright with cash, … (2 comments)

california: Private Lenders Provide Help in Many Situations - 4.6.2012 - 04/06/12 05:34 PM
When I first learned about Source Capital and what they did, I had a limited frame of reference. I figured there was only one type of borrower that would need a private lender’s services. Some of you reading this may have the same initial thought. I am talking about the preconceived idea that the only reason someone would contact Source Capital is because they were turned down by a bank based on their credit history. Although this is the case with some, there are several other more common reasons a borrower may seek out a private money loan.
When time is … (1 comments)

california: Real Estate Loans and Related Laws - 4.4.2012 - 04/04/12 07:01 PM
I was the host on a comedy show tonight. It was a great show, but not everyone was happy at the end of it. The producer was unable to be at the show, so he left me strict instructions on how to handle various situations in his absence. This included relating to the other comedians. There were certain criteria that needed to be followed in order to perform on the show. One comedian didn’t follow these rules and I had to tell him he couldn’t perform. He’s actually a friend of mine and a talented comedian, but in my role tonight, … (0 comments)

california: Buing a Home - 4.2.2012 - 04/02/12 05:32 PM
One of things I do in my spare time when I’m not writing this blog is perform stand-up comedy. Tonight I went to a show to support a friend on the bill. The producer generously offered me stage time if I wanted it. I, of course said yes! Us comedians LOVE stage time! I hadn’t planned on performing, so I felt a bit unprepared. Mostly because I knew that the jokes I told on a regular basis probably wouldn’t fly with this audience and I needed to pull some things out I hadn’t done in a while. As a result I … (1 comments)

Arizona has more than just cactus. Want to go commercial? Consider Phoenix.

I enjoy the learning that comes with doing research for this blog. Today I found an informative bi-monthly publication that I didn’t know existed. AZRE | Arizona Commercial Real Estate covers different aspects of the current commercial real estate market in Arizona.
Because Source Capital is based in north San Diego County’s Rancho Bernardo area, you may not know that they are licensed to fund loans elsewhere. Not only anywhere in California, but also Arizona. According to the article at the link below, … (0 comments)

california: Private Lender Assists Clients to Understand the Real Estate Market - 3.28.2012 - 03/28/12 12:28 PM
Posted on March 28, 2012 by sourcecapital When doing research, differing opinions can be confusing.

When you are doing research on any topic, the amount of information to consider can be overwhelming. Add to this the confusion when differing opinions come into play. In looking for pertinent articles for this blog, I find completely different statements being made on the same subject.
When discussing the economy and how its status is showing up in the real estate market for example, I have come across varied thoughts. Some articles focus on the large number of foreclosures still evident, while others have … (1 comments)

california: Trust Deed Investments and Real Estate Loan Assistance - 3.26.2012 - 03/26/12 03:54 PM

Just like gifts, pearls of wisdom sometimes come as a big surprise.

Sometimes words of wisdom come out of my mouth. I’m not bragging! I don’t even realize they are extraordinarily wise until after they have already been said and I have time to reflect on them. I’m sure we all have moments like this. Something is spoken and we’re like, “where did that come from? That’s really good. Write that down!”
I was having a conversation with my grandma today. We were talking about taking care of ourselves. And here are my pearls… “sometimes taking care of ourselves, … (0 comments)

california: Hard Money Lender - Mahalo to the Good Guys - 3.23.2012 - 03/23/12 05:23 PM

I sold jeeps without selling my soul.
In addition to writing, I have a sales and marketing background. I have sold everything from advertising to jeeps. Yes. That’s right. I used to be one of “them.”
The first task of a car salesperson is to overcome people’s prejudices. Most people dread having to go the dealership and talk to one of “us.” The car industry does not have a reputation for being honest. Its employees are known for being greedy and doing whatever is necessary, including illegal acts, in order to make money. Make money off you, the consumer. … (1 comments)
