Last Week we attended one of the
Northern League playoff games for the
LOCAL Northwest Indiana
Gary SouthShore Railcats Baseball Team.
It was an unseasonably cool and windy evening after a weekend of post hurricaine IKE rains here in NW Indiana, but a fun time still.
With easy access via expressways and tollroad
to this new ballpark,
plus reasonable ticket costs and only $1 for a Hot dog...
this Northwest Indiana Attraction makes for an affordable outing for the entire family!

On this past Saturday afternoon, in between downpours of rain, Valparaiso University Crusader's Football Team played their 1st game of the 2008 season at their newly renovated Brown Field with an impressive performance and a Big win over Concordia (WI) 34-10.
Valparaiso rolled up 449 yards of total offense, 229 on the ground and 220 through the air as the Crusaders showed they had a balanced attack by air or by ground. Earlier this week we experienced a Severe Storm in NorthWest Indiana, we had a record number of lightening strikes - more than is usually experienced in a 6 month period of time happened in one night!
As the power went out, and our phone lines went dead, we watched and waited until the storm passed, only to be re-awakened in the middle of the night with more thunderstorms and the tornado sirens going off!
Luckily, our property was not damaged, although we waited several days for phone service and internet cable to be restored from lightening damage.

With over 120 Stores of Brand names For Less, we rarely pay retail anymore without checking here first.
Labor Day weekend is their annual sidewalk sale where clearance prices are even more drastically reduced... ( i.e. last summer I found a Burberry Ladies sleveless cotton shirt in my size for THREE DOLLARS ).
