We've come across some Blog posts about the topic of Buyers making offers to purchase homes significantly lower than the asking price. We can certainly relate to how other REALTORS feel about this topic, (and this post is NOT about having a HIGH Ball to help you deal with offers like this :) .... Recently we've had to deal with a low offer that came in on a property we had listed for sale in NW Indiana. When we moved from Lake County, Indiana (St. John) 12 years ago to Porter County, IN ....we were looking for lower property taxes, a home with some land and goods schools. We ended up with all of that plus some...the added amenities of enjoying a beautiful year round recreational community - SHOREWOOD FOREST - and all of the perks that go with it! It may be somewhat rare these days to have a Loan get through the underwriting process without getting kicked back with at least one (if not more) condition to full fill before final approval and those 3 famous words: "Clear to Close" are heard .

In our Indiana Travels, between Hebron and DeMotte there's a Restaurant and Bar located right on the Kankakee River called Marti's Place at Ramsey's Landing that has been around for many years. I asked Jeff to stop the other day on the way home from Indy...(I had a taste for some catfish and a beer :) The menu has a wide variety, but for some reason, I always choose the catch of the day or catfish. It was windy, so we ate inside (outside seating is also available) but the wall of windows overlooking the river provided great views!
