Q and A on the local real estate scene - 09/14/10 11:29 AM
I have been told to stay away from homes that have pure electric heat-do you know what the problem is with that type of heating system? T. Acadia, Paoli, PA I am guessing the advice came from someone who was aware that the electric rates for our area are scheduled to increase as of January 1, 2011. The rate for the "generation" portion of the bill from PECO (about 2/3 of the total bill) had been capped for years but that cap will be eliminated then. Until a few weeks ago, it was not know how much rates would go up

Main Line Local Market Statistics - 09/02/10 11:20 AM
For the 30 days ending August 25, 2010 in the 3 nearest townships, there were 51 single family and twin homes that settled at an average price of $660,740. This is an improvement again this month in total homes sold since the previous month, somewhat surprising given the fact that the tax credit buyers are no longer in the numbers and the local media had reported a bad July.
